Computers: The computer labs are fairly available although sometimes crowded.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: The social scene at Ohio State is second to none. Different activities for everyone.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: Ohio State is one of the biggest sports schools in the country. Football and basketball are the main ones.

1 College Freshman

Facilities: The athletic centers at Ohio State are great as well as the libraries and research facilities.

Campus Strictness: Well, we don't really have many strict policies. We hav to make sure to stay away from the construction sites and to always listen to the police. They are always encourage us not to participate in the Mirror Lake jump during Michigan week but everyone does it anyway and nobody gets in trouble. It's quite calm here.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I came to OSU hoping for a great experience, and I did.I love this place and wouldn't have picked a better place to go. Our campus is phenomenal and the professors are fantastic. Our football team is on top of the charts and school spirit is everywhere.

Majors: I was the first graduating class in my major. I enjoyed the personal attention from the BME department. I knew all of my professors personally, and the department head. The advisors were very strong.

Off-Campus Housing: Cost is very affordable
Landlords don't keep houses in great conditions
If you move a little farther from campus, in short north area, houses are much nicer
Bus system is great to get from off-campus to campus

Health & Safety: Police patrol campus, Student Safety Services are excellent, good e-mail and phone alerts

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: My school has great interns, and your degree program helps you find the interns. I think its great that they help you find the interns because a lot of school leave it up to the student to find.

Off-Campus Housing: The off campus housing for at Ohio State is honestly just okay. The houses aren't terrible but they are very old. Pretty much everyone that I know aside from one person can lock the door to their room. None of them are equipped with alarms, it could be better honestly. One positive is that they have a pretty decent system for finding roommates

Facilities: Ohio States facilities are wonderful! There are plenty of gyms, equipped with full basketball courts , tennis courts and workout machines. In addition to the gyms they have hundreds of clubs that you can join. My favorite as of right now is the video game creation club. Ohio state has some of the best facilities as well as great school spirit!

3 College Freshman

Transportation: The campus buses are pretty convenient as they run fairly often and go to every part of campus. As far as off-campus transportation goes, you can pretty much walk places or get a taxi.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The dorms are pretty small compared to other schools. There are lots of different options so you just have to be careful about what you pick. North and South campus have the basic singles, doubles, and quads while West campus has suites of 10+ people. I live on West campus and it is pretty quiet as it is far from everything and pretty out of date.

Diversity: I see international students everywhere. The tolerance seems great, I never see people being made fun of. If anything, there's a lot of learning from one another's culture.

5 College Freshman

Transportation: The buses are all over the place and run almost constantly. The student ID works for COTA which will get you long distance transportation too.

3 College Freshman

Majors: I'm a chemistry major and pre-med student. The program is great but organic is really difficult and it should be easier to get into a lab than it is.

Health & Safety: Most of the year I feel very safe on campus, campus security has a decent presence and there are different safety measures in place. However, every fall seems to be some sort of gang initiation time and the past few years there have been a month or two of robberies at gunpoint around the campus area. For the most part no one is harmed, but it is still unnerving to have these events happening.

Off-Campus Housing: There are many options that can fit about any price range and you can easily find apartments/houses within a walkable distance to campus. The quality of the houses/neighborhoods depends on the price range but overall are of good quality. In order to find a good place though you need to start looking as soon as possible, most tenants have to renew their leases in january.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Definitely the cheaper option, however; some of the houses are trashy and full of people who don't take care of them. Otherwise, off campus can be pretty nice-- especially north of campus.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: Pretty standard dorm experience. They're super expensive and the meal plans are a rip off, no doubt. The new dorms are super nice though!

4 College Junior

Academics: I'm a Social Work major and I absolutely love the college. The professors (for the most part) are wonderful. They're great and always more than willing to work with you outside of class or talk about their experiences in the field.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: I've met so many diverse persons at OSU. Definitely easy to find your own niche.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: It's expensive unless you do your research and sign a lease early in the year.

4 College Freshman

Academics: OSU is a highly respected academic university. The workload is tough but help is easy to find and use.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
