Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Oglethorpe is unusual but only in the best of ways. The education is great, and the environment is supportive, but a stay at Oglethorpe requires hard work. Some parties are fun, but some are boring, and there are many nice people but also some cliques. However, most everyone is welcoming and not afraid to be themselves —eccentricities are the norm on campus. If someone's looking for fun, they'll eventually find it.

While many scholarships are available, it can prove hard to maintain the GPA required to keep them. This makes studying very important, and it can sometimes interfere with the social scene. For others, though, the curriculum is not so bad, and there is plenty of time to enjoy themselves both on an off campus.

Oglethorpe is a safe and nurturing environment where a student can expect to be treated as an individual. The classes are tiny but by no means lacking in comparison to courses at other schools. In fact, an advantage of Oglethorpe is the one-on-one treatment a student can expect from teachers. There aren't many students here, so it's easy to get to know everyone. The school is beautiful, and so is the atmosphere—it's safe and, even better, inviting.

Guys & Girls: It's hit or miss. there are all types of people to suit anyone's likes

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: since we are so close to Atlanta there are a lot of options to suit whatever you are hungry for.

Off-Campus Housing: the school won't help you. you just have to go in to Atlanta and fend for yourself

Facilities: we have some nice newer buildings and if you are a science major you have really nice equipment. some buildings are really old and from the 60's and haven't been updated in a while.

Health & Safety: I have never felt unsafe on campus even though campus safety is slower to respond. they are getting better at it though
