2 College Sophomore

Weather: Most of the time the weather in Huntsville is very bipolar. Majority of the year the weather is cold and terrible. The only time the sun usually comes out is in the beginning of the year and the ending. Its not always time efficient when you have to walk to class in bad weather.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: The rain is the only problem and it doesn't really cause that much confusion.

The weather at Oakwood is very random, and it changes drastically and can be extreme. One day it may be 80 degrees, and the next it could be 50. Students have to be prepared for this change-when-it wants-to weather or they can get sick. There are also occasional hailstorms and random tornadoes that pass through, but they are nothing to fear. Oakwood has a history of tornado warnings, but they never touch ground. When there are extreme conditions, such as a tornado, the campus alarm will ring to notify everyone to get in the lower levels of the building.

It doesn't rain much here, but when it does, it comes down hard. During the winter, it gets as cold as 20 degrees, and during the summer it can reach up to 110 degrees. You don’t want to take summer classes here! Many students come here with the assumption that Alabama is warm year-round. Do not be deceived. Come with both winter and summer clothes.
