Oakwood University has a positive night life. There are many social events that are planned to keep students entertained on weekend nights. Parties, clubs, and alcohol are not permitted on campus, and anyone interested in that type of activity would have to go off campus. Many students are Christian and don’t step foot into a club or bar, but there is always going to be a small group that does. On nights when there are no events planned, there isn’t much to do except go to the skating rink, watch the Saturday night basketball games, go to the ice cream shop, or the check out the monthly Art and Soul poetry show.

There is not much campus nightlife, but there are many things to do at night off campus, including movies, restaurants, games, and all types of nightlife. One of the hot spots for nightlife near Oakwood is Bridge Street. Every type of entertainment can be found there, and it is suitable for all age groups. There are many house parties that students attend off campus, but in order to get some nightlife in little old Huntsville, students have to go out of their way. For underage students, there are the nearby parties that fraternities have and often advertise, though these advertisements are not condoned by the school.
