When you finally get fed up with dorm food, look to off-campus dining to fulfill your cravings. Downtown Rochester is full of great places to eat at, as is Royal Oak and Birmingham. These places give you a variety of different cuisines, including Ethiopian, Middle Eastern, American, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Japanese. If you are a vegetarian just getting by on dorm food, Royal Oak is host to Inn Season Café, a totally vegetarian restaurant with choices like an all-vegan meal. If you are looking for kosher meals, Jerusalem Pizza, in West Bloomfield and Southfield, is always an option.
For many of these places, there is no other way to get to them except by driving—though, if you are patient enough, you can always take a bus. But if you don't have a car and are not patient enough to wait for a bus, on-campus dining is your only option.
