Local Atmosphere: The town that my campus is located in is very remote and doesn't have much to offer. There are some small local shops along with 3 places to eat. In order to do anything fun you have to drive out of the town at least 20-30 minutes. That requires a car, which many students don't have either. It is a safe town because there aren't many people and it has many street lights. The local attitude toward the students is good because the school provides a majority of the income.

1 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: A Dollar Store, Subway, Chinese and 1 pizza place. There is 1 tavern and a hardware store! Not a typical college town!

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Locals are very supportive of the school. They crowd almost all of the sporting events and always come by to watch the Corps march in parades.

Local Atmosphere: There is nothing around Northfield. You have to go to Montpelier to get anything you might need

3 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Northfield, VT is a small rustic town. Even though there are not many places to go and hang out, the people that live in the town understand the military aspect of the college and enjoy being part of events held at Norwich. The Campus Activities Board does a good job of getting entertainment to the school such as a Bill Rice concert. When in doubt, if a friend has a car, Burlington is an hour away with many attractions.
