Off-Campus Dining: I don't dine out much, but the places I have been to are nice.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: There will be an application process that administrators will review. I personally haven't experienced it yet.

Health & Safety: I've only heard of a few cases of sexual assualt. NMU is cool because it has these blue posts all over campus that you can run to and press a button that alerts someone if you need help or are in danger. However, NMU is probably one of the safest campuses around. There is a lot of drug abuse though, and that's how most kids get busted.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Alcohol is prohibited in the dorms. The RA's will seem to turn a blind eye sometimes and give personal verbal warnings and let people know that there will be really big consequences if the drinking is abused. I've never really seen someone get busted for alcohol though.

Guys & Girls: I met my current boyfriend at college!

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: Like all college campus food. It's only going to be okay. It's inevitable, but if you're not careful in dining habits, the freshman fifteen can sneak up on you.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: We have the Superior Dome! We outrank in the world's largest wooden dome building! The PEIF is also great at gearing towards student's physical needs.

Overall Experience: I have a professor who made me feel nervous at first, but once I started to talk to her and get to know her, she started talking to me about other topics other than school related material. It was really nice getting to know the professors on a personal level. Getting to interact with them made the courses less intimidating and more fun to be in,.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I can't really say much here, but I kow the faculty and staff try very hard to make the process of earning a degree and getting out into the "real world" a success.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: I love everything about the campus. I love this school so much.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: NMU has two sets of dorms. There are the "older" dorms, which I lived in for one year. Next year I'll be living in the "newer" dorms. The older dorms have more social qualtiies amongst residents, and the newer ones don't. The older dorms are clean. They're not dilapidated, but some of the walls, floors, and some bathroom amenities could use some updating. In the newer dorms, it appears to be cleaner and more updated.

Local Atmosphere: The UP has a very unique atmosphere. The people are so friendly in the small towns and always seem eager to help if you ask for it. There are beautiful hiking trails, beautiful beaches, plenty of mountains to hike up, and during certain months of the year, you can even catch the Northern Lights. There are always ways one can get involved in school events and the surrounding community.

Nightlife: Theres lots of bars and breweries in town and attract many students.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: Theres an okay amount of scholarships but many have large guidelines

4 College Junior

Facilities: Theres a lot of great places on campus and many over spectacular views of lake superior and the "mountains" /woods. Some buildings are older but many are new and have a very open feel to them.

Campus Housing: Campus housing is great. Students are required to spend two years in the dorm and you really do gain valuable connections through housing.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I love Northern and everything it offers. While it is still a big school, it has the small school feel. You have to be prepared for a cold winter but it can be fun.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: NMU does a great job at connecting you and the professors do as well. The Alumni network is also very willing to hire grads.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Theres lots of variety on campus and everyone can find someone that interest them.

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: Marquette has something for everyone. From the lake to bike trails to shopping downtown. Its a small town but still as everything you need!

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Off campus food is great. You have a large variety of both chain and local restaurants that feature great selections for every budget.

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: Campus dining has been greatly improving over the years. They have been making a great effort to step up the quality of the food and the variety as well.

2 College Junior

Greek Life: There is little greek life on campus and it easily forgotten. Many student just try to avoid it or go just to the parties. Many times you see the different houses fighting and hear lots of complaining but its kinda a hit or miss deal.

3 College Junior

Athletics: Northern offers some cool athletic facilitates including one of the worlds largest wooden dome. But depending on the year some teams don't do so well and students begin to ignore them. There is more support of hockey than any other sport but slowly the other teams are gaining bigger crowds. The best part of everything would be the marching and pep band. Me and my friends have gone to games just to see them.

4 College Junior

Diversity: Theres a lot of diversity on campus and everyone excepts each other. Its fun getting to meet others from different backgrounds and regions and learning about their lifestyles. And with over 300 student organizations, students are able to find a group that relates to their background, political beliefs, religion, sexual orientation and race.
