Academic Flexibility: The academic flexibility is not bad, definitely decent.

Campus Resources: Everything about this school is great, no better place out there.

Facilities: My school is in the process in making a workout area. I think this will earn it a better rating in the future.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: I have learned a lot with the courses I have taken to graduate.

Career Services: The career center is very helpful in opinions on how I should approach my future.

Student Body: I think the student body at NMCC is okay. The students should all get together and hang out more.

Online Courses: I think the online courses are great and convenient at Northern Maine Community College

Online Courses: I have no experience with online courses, but if at all possible I would like to try at least one online course.

Student Body: Northern Maine Community College is open to all diversities of people. Acceptance is not based upon something a person cannot change about themselves. There are all kinds of different people in the student body. In a way it is similar to high school because everyone forms small groups based on interests and hobbies. Everyone is pretty friendly though and making new friends isn't too difficult.

Career Services: I'm not quite sure about this topic so I can't really say all that much. I know they offer a partnership with Husson University that allows students to continue their education without having to travel to the campus.

Academic Experience: I'm currently enrolled for Computer Electronics major. I figured my classes would be focused around computer technology, but this first semester has mainly been general courses. I have learned more about the basics of electricity than I thought I had to, which is great because I understand more about how electricity impacts my major than I did before. The workload isn't at all that bad-- if you manage time wisely. There is ample time to finish all of the work assigned and then some. The curriculum is focused on computers but there are required electives that allow for the broadening of students' minds. If you are interested in psychology then that is available for you even if you have a major such as mine.

Academic Experience: Some professors teach multiple classes which is beneficial in some aspects, but degrading in others. Having the same teacher for multiple classes helps because you can establish a good relationship with them and feel more comfortable when it comes time for your next class. It can however be monotonous listening to the same voice all day. Having multiple teachers with different personalities can spice things up a bit. I wouldn't change my professors I have now though, they are all amazing at what they do.

Academic Flexibility: I haven't been frustrated at all this semester with my experience at NMCC. The only thing that has bothered me is that Friday is my longest day. I have classes from 8 AM to 4 PM, which may not seem all that bad, but on a Friday.. It's just kind of depressing.

Tuition & Financial Aid: After giving the financial aid office my award totals they informed me that they would send notice to each organization that had presented a scholarship to me. This was surprising since that burden is usually up to the student. However I made sure to check on my own that the organizations would send my moneys to the correct location, just to be on the safe side. The education I'm receiving at NMCC is just as valuable as education I would earn at any other accredited college, I'm just paying less than half the price for it. This college is a great option for people who want to earn a quality education while looking to stay debt free. Those who plan on continuing their education after any of the two year programs will have saved a fortune. Or at least a couple years of paying off debt.

Campus Resources: Wireless access is available across the campus and the connection is reliable and secure. There is a drawback to the area of the network though. Due to the range of the network there is a split in the campus where you will lose connection. If this happens you must log in again to reestablish your connection. This can be quite annoying, but other than that the network is great.
There isn't a necessity to bring a personal computer, but the option is open and connecting to the campus network is simple. Printers are available in the library and media center if needed.

Campus Resources: There's an Academic Success center available everyday for tutoring and aid with difficulty in study techniques or time management. The library is always open and there is a media center attached with resources such as desktop computers. I am unsure of the name of the office, but there is a branch for students with disabilities or who are more challenged than others. The campus has numerous activities every week. I believe a scavenger hunt is coming up, along with a Zumba session under black lights.

Student Body: Life sometimes can get in the way of our education. The students and faculty at Northern Maine Community College have been really good with helping others who need it. There is not much diversity here due to location but the diversity that is here is treated with respect from the students. The student body is accepting of people from all backgrounds, religion and sexual orientation. Student understand that we are here to get an education and do not let childish things get in the way of that.

Academic Experience: Always One Bad Instructor – I absolutely love the majority of my instructors but there's always one that isn't like the rest and doesn't fit your teaching style. Most instructors are great but I personally had one horrible lady who I still to this day dislike.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Cheap and Worth It – The tuition is dirt cheap, and the financial aid department actually does there job I got accepted into the school two days after I applied and at that point I went in and gave them my awards letter which I got with my acceptance letter, they processed my paperwork within 5 minutes and I was able to go to the bookstore that day and buy all my books and supplies. They treat you like a person and want you to succeed.
