NAU is in the final stages of a campus facelift. In the past few years, several new college buildings and a brand new expansion to the Union have been built. The chemistry lLab building, for example, is absolutely gorgeous, with giant glass windows and a café inside to boot. The amenities inside the new buildings are also state-of-the-art. The W.A. Franke Business Building is another point of pride—it's also an intimidating reason to not be late on your tuition payments. Also, with the field house and the Rec Center, students have no reason to put on the dreaded Freshman 15.
Even in the campus's older buildings, the University has done a good job of keeping them usable, clean, and technologically sound. The Du Bois Center (the "Doob") and the Union both offer plenty of ambiance. Many different offices and meeting rooms are also located within them, making them a prime location for on-campus events. Anyone on campus will feel like they're on a traditional college campus, but the brand new buildings remind you which century you are in. NAU has done well to mix the old with the new, and the lessening construction across campus is certainly a fantastic development.
