Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Overall, Northeastern University is a well-rounded school that offers a wonderful college experience and a high-quality education. The campus is beautiful and offers a quiet respite from the larger city of Boston. Northeastern exposes you to city life while still allowing you to feel a sense of community in its enclosed campus. The faculty is helpful, and it is fairly easy to get in touch with the right staff members to assist you with your needs. The co-op program puts you ahead of the game when it comes to job connections, industry knowledge, and professional experience. Most Northeastern students who partake in the co-op program graduate with two or three entry-level jobs on their resume.

The downsides at Northeastern are minimal. Parking can be difficult because the school is in the middle of Boston. But most students feel that Northeastern offers a unique college experience that allows you to enjoy your college years while getting ahead in your career.

Nightlife: Apartment Parties are So, so. a complete gamble really, can be great or can be awful. clubbing in boston is fun, but gets boring after a while as bostons a small place. you can go and party every night of the week all semester if you wanted but bostons partying scene isn't diverse enough to sustain a interesting party life so its a little in moderation to keep things interesting.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Lots Of hot guys international and american. Not many hot international girls but plenty of 'cute' American girls.

5 College Freshman

Academics: student assistants are often there because they have to be, so sometimes they have an 'attitude', but even I am yet to meet a professor who does not have a deep passion for their subject, some are annoying (I'm at the end of my sophomore year and I've only had 1 professor I wouldn't want to work with again - some very emotionally high strung english professor who liked to talk about his feelings and 'inner pain' so yeah that was odd and not typical of most teachers!)

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: very easy to drink. very easy to do drugs. impressionable people with a wild streak don't last long in boston (crash and burn!). but as long as you're sensible and are made aware of drug safety allot of people take drugs and drink but they do it in limited amounts, 99% of the time people seem to be very sensible. but then the 1% you sometimes hear about a 'friend of a friend' who's fallen off the deep end. they treat you like adults here so if you screw up and get caught things get nasty but if you can handle your self the police don't try to catch students. its mostly noise complaints if you ever see the police in boston - not drug busts!

Campus Strictness: Alcohol in dorms. you do get 'some' RA's who try to catch you but most often if your not stupid and run around the halls like a drunken lunatic screaming profanities you're going to get away with drinking. I was drunk ALLOT freshman year. but by no means is there pressure to drink, coming from europe my Boarding school gave us alcohol on weekends anyways so in my mindset i was allowed to drink at college! attendance is very strict, most classes for every 3rd class you miss you are put down a permanent grade boundary or the more lenient will give 5-15% of your grade based off attendance. so its important and seriously easy to miss 3 classes :\ ! Drugs, coming from the uk where americans seem to thing we take a TON of drugs its kind of scary how much more people in america take drugs and how easy it is to get away with it. freshaman year people would be smoking weed at 3am on the dorm quad and they would NEVER get caught boston has a large cocain culture in the working professionals not at college so it is easy to obtain that as well.
