Online Courses: I have only completed one online course, but it was fantastic. With online classes, it seems that the key is in the organization. The professor was excellent at coordinating, and encouraging students to interact. With the weekly discussion topics, each person posted on the forum. Given the interest level of most of the topics, students frequently responded to each other's posts and more conversation was created.

Student Body: The student body is very diverse and from my experience willing to interact with each other when it comes to class times and course work. Most of the students are either part time students, or have full time jobs or both. They do not, therefore, have extensive time or willingness to socialize outside of anything directly related to course work.

Academic Experience: Every teacher i've had always seem passionate about the subject they are teaching us. They are very involved with their student and go out their way to help us learn the material. They always have availability for one on one time if your having trouble. They cover all the material clearly and they grade fairly.

Academic Flexibility: I love the flexibility of the classes at North Shore. It makes it very easy for me to work up to 20 hours and still take 5 classes. I attended Rutgers before coming here and most of my credits transferred.

Academic Experience: Northshore Community College offers many wonderful classes that work your way up to your major of choice, as well as many majors to chose from. Northshore is located in two seperate locations and in two different cities: Lynn and Danvers, MA. Danvers campus offers challenging classes; more science and math courses, while Lynn is more pre- and co-requisities.

Student Body: Northshore is a very diverse college when it comes to the student body. It consists mostly of working class people with part or full time jobs and families. All attending are juggling two or more priorities along with school trying to get a grip on things, trying to take control of their life and are succeeding in doing so by taking the initiative to get to class and strive every day instead of socializing.

Academic Experience: The academics offered by Northshore Community College are as follows: the basic study courses including but not limited to math, science, literature/composition/writing, creative thinking classes that like to challenge the students mind such as philosophy, psychology, sociology, etc. In my experience at Northshore the staff is excellent when it comes to keeping the students mind active, and wanting to learn more, they are hands on so learning isn't as much as a challenge, they try and work with your preferred learning style to the best of your and their ability. The workload is approximately 3-4 hours of homework out of the classroom for every hour, or hour and a half spent in class. The majority of the workload is expected to be completed out of the classroom and on time. The registration process is very easy as well! My only real complaint with my experience at northshore is the bookstore. The staff isn't friendly and the lines stretch out into the halls, making it a hassle, really, to receive the mandatory course materials and textbooks.

Academic Flexibility: The "good" classes fill up quickly, which can be a nuisance. I haven't had trouble yet with transferring credits but there have been some mix ups with documents mailed to the school. Teachers are generally very helpful to willing students.
