3 College Senior

Campus Strictness: The campus strictness really isn't an issue. There is an honor code in place and they do take that very seriously.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: I do not live on campus, so I cannot speak about leniency or strictness in student housing. However, some regulations are strictly enforced, such as the honor code and parking rules.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Overall, I'd have to say campus strictness is pretty average. They tend to be very strict about some things like the honor code, visitation hours in the dorms, and parking. On the other hand they are very lenient about other things such as, underage drinking, drinking in general, and attendance to class. I couldn't say much about this because I don't usually do things that test how strict campus policies are.

5 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: The school isn't strict about anything, really, except parking without a permit and the honor code (cheating in class, basically). Also, drinking citations are given out pretty easily.

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: NC state is strict about alcohol use in dorms, that can get you kicked out. They are also strict about the honor code, violation of that can get you flunked and on probation academically. Parking is extremely strict, you park where you aren't supposed to and you will get a ticket within 30 minutes to an hour. However, much "fun" is still to be had as you can get away with alcohol and marijuana use and greek parties.

Campus is very strict on certain activities. They do not condone underage drinking. Many drinking tickets have been distributed to students who have been found wandering campus drunk. Campus is also very strict on illegal parking. The first ticket on a car is always a warning, but after that, it is usually a $40 fine. Students complain about how campus officials are too strict about parking and drinking, but they cannot be criticized for following the law.

The University is fair about its policies. If a student receives a ticket for parking in an illegal spot, he or she may contest the ticket with Transportation Services on campus and they may take away the citation if they feel the student's reason is good enough. Students caught downloading illegal music, movies, or pornography will also be handled by the Office of Student Conduct and be given an appropriate punishment.
