4 College Sophomore

Facilities: NC state has one of the best engineering programs in the country. Its design school also contains some of the greatest minds of this generation in the world of design.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: Student life on campus is vibrant. There are many places on campus designed for students to interact and make connections. Tucker Owen Beach contains a beach volley ball court for students to play. It also has multiple grills for students to have cookouts.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I love the experience at my school. NC State has a great balance of academic and social events to give a well rounded college experience.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: The drug scene at NC State is pretty minor. The majority of students at the school do not participate in the use of drugs. Those who do partake in alcohol use are above the drinking age.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I feel generally safe on campus. I feel safe walking alone at dark because of the multiple emergency buttons located on campus. There is also a police unit located right on campus for an extremely quick response.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Carmichael gym is an amazing sports facility. I love the state 11 full indoor basketball courts along with the other 4 full basketball courts outside. There is always somewhere to run a pick up game. The weight rooms have enough weights for everyone to get in their workout. The school a also has an olympic size swimming pool for those who like to swim for fitness.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Off campus dining mostly consists of fast food restaurants like taco bell or burger king. There are some local resturants but they do not provide any student discounts.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: There is always a computer available on campus. There are some computer labs that are open 24 hours a day. The library also has a large amount of available computers. There may be some minor issues with the computers like a defective headphone jack. However it is nothing that will heavily effect your ability to complete work.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: The on campus options are alright. They are not the best but you can eat it without feeling disgusted

Fountain dining hall has a good breakfast selection every morning but their food choices for lunch and dinner tend to feel and taste like plastic. There is a better choice of food at the Talley Student Center. They have a wide variety of food from hamburgers and fries to chinese food and burritos.

Off-Campus Housing: There is a large variety of off campus housing opportunities near North Carolina State University. I do not personally live off campus however i know may people who do. From my experience visiting these places and the views of those who live there i would highly suggest living off campus. The neighbors are friendly and generous. There is always someone to talk to or hang out with and the environment feels safe. I plan on living off campus next semester myself.

4 College Junior

Majors: I had no challenges or troubles getting to the biology department. The most important criteria would be grades and proving you're a well-rounded student. State isn't all about your brains but, also you as a person. No abnormal processes.

3 College Junior

Majors: My program is a challenging one being the science department is filled with many intelligent people who do a lot of research. I enjoy it a lil bit only because it is very hard. The workload and curriculum is tough. It is easy to find internships and jobs in the field of study though.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: I have been in a predicament where I felt unsafe. There are so many emergency buttons everywhere so if anything did happen, I would be able to contact help. Campus crime is to a minimum and when there is crime its usually a robbery or something of someone who walked alone in a dark area.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I wouldn't trade NCSU for any other school in the world. The atmosphere, the people, and teachers all make it the best school. I have never encountered a rude person, or an event that was lame. Everything is live, sparked, and filled with State pride.

2 College Junior

Scholarships: I have had some issues in the pass with financial aid including them needing lot of excess paperwork to prove my financial need for assistance. I had to send in numerous doctor bills and household bills just to show them.

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: I have never seen anyone directly participate in drugs or alcohol on campus. Some of our dorms are wet dorms but, people are discrete and private about that part of their life.

5 College Junior

Athletics: There is so much school spirit and pride when it comes to varsity sports. Everyone shows love to our teams no mater win or lose.

5 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Everyone is so friendly and open to diversity. There is no judgement from people and we all have the one thing in common, we love State and yearn to beat UNC.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Everything is great in all categories!

5 College Freshman

Weather: Raleigh weather is typically warm-it doesn't get too cold!

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: There are lots of options. Dining halls are pretty healthy. Meals at Talley usually go over the equivalency, which is very annoying.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Most people drink, but no one will pressure you to if you don't want to. Drinking citations are very easy to comeby, and drugs in dorms are usually taken pretty seriously.

5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Raleigh has tons to do! The area has many sights downtown and lots of shopping/sports events.

4 College Freshman

Majors: Workload for Nutrition Science major is difficult but doable. Faculty members are very available and helpful for course advising, internship/job opportunities, and help in general.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Hillsborough St and Western Blvd offer tons of cheap options within walking distance to campus. Cameron Village and Downtown Raleigh provide excellent food for more money.

Overall, the students' experience with NCSU is that it provides them with a rich learning environment. Students learn to balance play and work. Some come to NC State because of family tradition, to get away from the cold, or because of the College of Engineering-but whatever the reason is for the individual, positive feedback always finds its way out. Professors at the University will go above and beyond their call of duty. You make lifelong friends, and you have a huge list of organizations to partake in. Whether you're involved in a college sport, student government, or the Agribusiness Club, you will find your niche here among the thousands of students. Some professors will take you under their wing, and you will learn enormous amounts of information from them. These professors will also become lifelong connections who will probably end up writing letters of recommendation for you when it is time for you to find a job.

NC State wants its students to succeed not only in academics, but in life, too. Here you learn important lifelong skills that are essential to your survival in the real world. Classes can be rigorous and stressful, but students find a way to overcome hardships and get through. Professors will push you to do your best, but at the same time, they understand what it was like to be a student. NC State will help you become an expert in your subject of choice, and with the large number of students, you will come out of college ready to work in some of the most diverse settings.
