3 College Junior

Weather: It's North Carolina so, whenever it decides to rain it will rain and whenever it decides to be a nice day it will be a nice day. It's even possible to have both occurrences in one day.

5 College Junior

Computers: if you need a computer, you can find one, its just all in a matter of knowing where to look.

3 College Junior

Academics: It is somewhat hard with dealing with the chemistry and biology classes. Other than that, our major classes are quite interesting!

4 College Junior

Academics: We have so many options to choose from in reference to majors and minors. Also, there are a ton of classes covering all the major languages, religions, and interests.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are so many restaurants that sit on the two streets that encase the main campus making them only walking distance for students.

5 College Junior

Drug Safety: There are not that many instances of drug abuse on campus, that I have seen. When I do hear about drug use, it's usually at parties.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: It was a little tedious because we have to do it every year and submit all the right forms. What made it such a hassle was the fact that it was sort of unclear as to which documents to submit.

5 College Junior

Facilities: There is a mass amount of diverse organizations on campus that any one person would have a hard time choosing which one to commit to.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: The bus system is convenient if you are at the right spot at the right time. It typically gets overly crowded and certain routes only have two or three busses which causes a delay.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I always feel really safe during the day, but at night time I am more weary to go out.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: It takes forever to do all the paperwork they want. It seems like every other day I was having to submit a different paper or do something else online.

5 College Freshman

Weather: The weather is so much better here than it is in Florida!

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: They are strict about weird things. They care way too much about parking and underage drinking. It's college everyone is going to drink at some point. But they are very lenient about the opposite sex coming over and visiting.

Parking: PARKING SUCKS. The enforcement officers are all jerks and legit walk around and ticket people who are parked in different spots then their permit allows but there is never any spots with the pass they have. Also I normally have to park out in the middle of nowhere when I get back from practice late at night and it's sketchy as hell.

College Freshman

Drug Safety: I'm not really sure how the drug scene is because I typically avoid people who do anytime of drug including weed.

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: There is a lot to do in Raleigh. The people here are all pretty nice too.

3 College Freshman

Academics: The academics aren't too bad. Some of the teachers could be better and there could be more assignments to help with grades.

3 College Freshman

Academics: There's a ton of majors that are offered. Engineering is a huge major that a lot of people come to state for.

1 College Freshman

Athletics: I find it really annoying how much attention the varsity sports get. They have their own dining hall and it's not fair to the rest of us that they get to eat there and we don't. Also they get fancy matching backpacks which is annoying. The school should get a varsity lacrosse team and then I'd be happy.

College Freshman

Majors: I have not had an internship yet. I do think that it should be fairly easy to find one though.

3 College Freshman

Majors: I like my major. I wasn't expecting all the chemistry classes so if I could go back I might reconsider.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I heard that living off-campus can be annoying. Some of the apartments offer a bus to campus, but the bus frequently breaks down or there is only one bus. Also the apartments are incredibly loud due to parties.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: There are different types of people everywhere you look but they all seem to fit in and nobody has a problem with anyone.

4 College Junior

Weather: The weather is incredible. The temperature drops to a pleasant 10 degree celsius with a sunny climate and cool breeze flowing around.

2 College Junior

Computers: Printing on campus is not available to students free of charge , although its available pretty cheap. Some of the computers take a lot of time to boot and run pretty slow which lowers down the speed of work. The wireless access is good but the speed is sometimes a problem.

Overall, the students' experience with NCSU is that it provides them with a rich learning environment. Students learn to balance play and work. Some come to NC State because of family tradition, to get away from the cold, or because of the College of Engineering-but whatever the reason is for the individual, positive feedback always finds its way out. Professors at the University will go above and beyond their call of duty. You make lifelong friends, and you have a huge list of organizations to partake in. Whether you're involved in a college sport, student government, or the Agribusiness Club, you will find your niche here among the thousands of students. Some professors will take you under their wing, and you will learn enormous amounts of information from them. These professors will also become lifelong connections who will probably end up writing letters of recommendation for you when it is time for you to find a job.

NC State wants its students to succeed not only in academics, but in life, too. Here you learn important lifelong skills that are essential to your survival in the real world. Classes can be rigorous and stressful, but students find a way to overcome hardships and get through. Professors will push you to do your best, but at the same time, they understand what it was like to be a student. NC State will help you become an expert in your subject of choice, and with the large number of students, you will come out of college ready to work in some of the most diverse settings.
