5 College Junior

Health & Safety: We have a health center and a women's help center. I have been told that both places are very helpful. Also every month lecture series are given about this topic.

Health & Safety: The campus is in the hood and scary.

1 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: My $500 phone was stolen, along with dozens of other students. Some students have been robbed at gun point. If its dark, walk with a group of friends, even though I have still heard about groups still being robbed by another group. They are people from the surrounding neighborhoods, and many crime alerts happen, usually 3 a week.

Health & Safety: Health can be better on campus. I broke my foot while playing basket ball and I was unable to get help from campus to get to class. One group of people was telling me that they have temporary disability services to help me to get to class. Another group of people says that they discontinued this service. well i was forced to believe this group because I could not get to class for 2 weeks and I was forced to drop a class because I was failing because I could not get to class to take the tests and quizes. Safety is not that bad. Since the Virginia Tech thing anything that happens on campus they send out emails, txts and they even call your parents to let them know what is happening

Health & Safety: Campus police do there best to ensure that students are safe and you always see one driving around on a golf cart sitting in a parked car somewhere or just driving. They are always out and about but mostly to catch drug and alcohol usage. As far as the student health they do a great job at making you feel comfortable and healthy, but if you go to make any appointment it can take almost a month to be seen.
