3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: No safety problems for me.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I know if you need an officer you would always find one. They are everywhere! My only issue with the safety around campus is students walking around alone at night. Even if there are officers around students should always be with someone because anything can happen. We are not in an enclosed campus anymore, so it is very important still to do like a buddy system. As for the security, they are always around when they are needed.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: I prefer to walk in groups at night for safety.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I always see a police officer and if not there is a number I can call to contact them immediately

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: I always feel safe on campus. The police respond fairly fast when contacted.

NC A&T and the city of Greensboro has had its share of crime throughout the years. As a result, the University Police Department works in cooperation with the Greensboro Police Department to ensure that the students live in a safe, on-campus community. There are emergency security boxes all around campus, as well as local phone numbers to call in the case of an emergency. Students can also sign up to receive alerts about campus activity via AggieAlert!, which sends students text message alerts about inclement weather and other emergency events. Theft is the one of the most common concerns on the NC A&T campus. After students receive their refund checks, they often don't take the proper precautions to protect themselves from being the victims of theft. It is very important for students to take the proper steps to protect themselves by keeping their doors locked at all times, keeping all valuables in a personal safe or closet out of sight, marking personal property with their names (if possible), and keeping a list of the serial numbers of computers and other electronic items to make it easier to track them down if stolen. There are security officers who patrol campus and even the dormitories throughout the night, but do not rely on them to protect you 24/7. It is very important for students to protect themselves! Stay very aware of your surroundings, try not to walk alone at night, and even stay alert while walking on campus during the day.
