4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Haven't had or seen any problems

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Campus is safe. You never feel alone because there is always someone outside.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: I have not had any run ins with campus security, but when I do see them they are giving out parking tickets or standing by the Library entrance. I have heard mixed comments about the security on campus. It would be nice if they offered escorts to the parking garage.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: Security is okay, not always timely or completely follow through with inquiries. But we have not had any major criminal activity on campus directly related to the students.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: We have the campus police and the city police nearby to help keep things safe.

NC A&T and the city of Greensboro has had its share of crime throughout the years. As a result, the University Police Department works in cooperation with the Greensboro Police Department to ensure that the students live in a safe, on-campus community. There are emergency security boxes all around campus, as well as local phone numbers to call in the case of an emergency. Students can also sign up to receive alerts about campus activity via AggieAlert!, which sends students text message alerts about inclement weather and other emergency events. Theft is the one of the most common concerns on the NC A&T campus. After students receive their refund checks, they often don't take the proper precautions to protect themselves from being the victims of theft. It is very important for students to take the proper steps to protect themselves by keeping their doors locked at all times, keeping all valuables in a personal safe or closet out of sight, marking personal property with their names (if possible), and keeping a list of the serial numbers of computers and other electronic items to make it easier to track them down if stolen. There are security officers who patrol campus and even the dormitories throughout the night, but do not rely on them to protect you 24/7. It is very important for students to protect themselves! Stay very aware of your surroundings, try not to walk alone at night, and even stay alert while walking on campus during the day.
