Students can access any Norfolk State University parking facility with the use of valid parking decals and/or passes, which are issued by the Office of Parking & Transportation Services. Decals may be purchased by anyone who works for and attends the school. But vehicles parked without a valid decal are subject to punishment, including ticketing, booting, and towing. It is very important to properly display your parking permit to avoid receiving a citation. Forgetting to display a permit is probably the most common and avoidable reason for receiving a ticket.
Even if you have a parking permit, you are not necessarily guaranteed a parking space; however, there is usually enough space available to find a spot. Although it is not recommended, there are other places at which to park, such as the streets surrounding campus. The upside of parking on the streets is that free campus shuttle services are offered to students, faculty, staff, and visitors, so even if you park far away, there's still a way to get closer to campus.
