Academic Experience: NHTI's IT program is terrific. The department head and his professors are very knowledgeable and eager to help. The school pays for a premium subscription to Microsoft's DreamSpark in which Microsoft provides their software, except Office, to IT students at no cost to them. I've gotten more than $30,000 in software through DreamSpark including Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate which retails for around $12,000.

The courses are mostly well balanced. The school is very Microsoft focused, while the IT program has a definite Android bias. I wish I could take a course on iOS programming or learn more about Apple products and their ecosystem but it's not offered. Depending on your concentration (Networking or Application Development) there are many certifications you can achieve, most notably Ciscos CCENT and CCNA certifications and CompTIAs A+. NHTI is a Cisco Academy.

Academic Experience: The courses offered are better than other colleges in the area, but are lacking. In fairness, it is a small community college that is struggling to keep up with the surge of new students. Most professors are wonderful; very nice, personable and approachable and genuinely enjoy teaching. My time at NHTI is almost up but I wouldn't trade the experience for anything, it's a wonderful school.
