Tuition & Financial Aid: My school's tuition is comparatively low. However, I was very unhappy with new law / restrictions on federal financial aid. As I already have an general studies associates degree (10 years old), of which I paid for myself out of pocket (no loans, no scholarships, no grants) I was put in a "maximum time frame appeal" for too many credits, when I applied for financial aid as a returning, non-traditional student. Although others get grants and loans, I was only eligible for an unsubsidized loan (even though I live below the poverty line with my 2 young boys). I understand that this is due to former students defaulting on their education loans or being life long students getting grants / financial aid, but my credits were over 10 years old and most no longer valid for my intended major as they were more than 7 years old. I had to retake many classes and take classes that I've never taken before for my intended major (prerequisites). My second year, I still have a few more classes to take to transfer to a 4 year university and I am no longer eligible for ANY federal financial aid (grants or loans)! All because I have an old, outdated, "general studies" associates degree that I paid for myself with no government assistance.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I pay for tuition online. I don't know much about financial aid but for those who use it they have a MHCC Card to put their money on which is convenient. I can definitely say the value of education is worth what I paid. It has been worth more than High School ever was. All I have for tips on financial aid is apply early. I wasn't even offered loans til my second term which by that time I'd already paid tuition.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Tuition is great because it’s a community college, so students are able to complete their general undergraduate requirements at a much lower price.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I feel like the schools tuition is a little high. After Financial Aid helps pay my classes, i barely have enough to help afford books. Im new to school here and i find it a little hard to understand how financial aid works here. My only tip for getting financial aid at my school is to stay focus in your class and do well. Financial aid is very strict, which is a PLUS! :)
