Career Services: I am transferring to another college because my completed courses expired and they are still good at another college.

Student Body: A typical student is an adult. The student body is of different ethnicity, economic status. There are no challenges when it comes to diversity.

Academic Experience: I am going for the nursing program. You have to maintain a 2.0 gpa in your prereq's. The classes are all required one's needed to get into the program. Once I am in the program they will be all Nursing related and have clinical's to get hands on experience.

Academic Experience: The professors are involved and care about the success of the students. I really enjoy going to this college. And would recommend to others as well.

Online Courses: I cannot answer this question qualitatively, as I have not taken any online courses, although I do know that it is required to take a class to learn how to be successful in online classes.

Campus Resources: No matter where I use my laptop on campus, I am always able to get a good strong quick signal.

Campus Resources: Montcalm host a series of seminars every semester that are designed to help students not only be successful in college, but also to help them be aware of some of the issues face the community, not only locally but also at the state, national and international community as well.

Campus Resources: Montcalm has a wide range of facilities on its main campus including a gym, pool, fitness center, library, tutors and so on, but one thing that is a new program on campus that allows us to stand out is the Supplemental Instruction Leader (SIL). This is where students have been successful in a class will attend that class as if they are a student, however the main goal of the SIL is to show the students how to be just as successful in that class as they were. It is a kind of students helping students system.

Student Body: The student body at Montcalm is pretty diverse as we have people from several different cultures, economic back grounds, religious beliefs, and sexual orientations. For the most part my classmates are widely accepting of all of the dynamics even though they might not agree with them.

Online Courses: I've only taken one totally online class and it went pretty good. The instructor was thorough in her instructions and was prompt to respond to e-mails. The workload was quite light and easy. Registration was simple because you just select the course on the college website like all the courses here. Peer-to-peer interaction was good. The college website has a place for "collaboration" where it lists everybody in your course and their e-mails, so we all had easy access to each other.

Campus Resources: The flexibility of computer lab hours are amazing, along with off campus buildings such as the Greenville M-Tech center offer students the option of using technology they may not have available at home. Walk-in couseling and friendly eager-to-help staff allow students to be connected and encourage in all areas. The Library at MCC also has walk-in couseling. I definitely participating in the free tutoring for my Math 104 class and without this specific resource, my struggle may not have lead to a great success. I have never considered the medical field as a personal goal, but from fellow students, I hear the availability of medical training and education is helpful.

Online Courses: I think that the online atmospher at the community college is relatively new to most teachers and is an ongoing learning process. I think there is room for improvement so that online atmoshere flows more efficiently. I believe that teachers who have used the online course programs are more fluent, but all staff should become more familiar. There were some errors with the online programs that caused confusion and disruption throughout a course, but overall if the ambition to improve this way of learning is reached, then I believe all students would greatly benefit. The online atmosphere is an efficient way to turn in assignments and to be updated on grade stauts.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The school, being a community college offers great ways to obtain the stepping stone to transfer to another university. The tuition is fair and the education is worth it. The staff and teachers offer individual attention and work with students to allow them to recieve the education they need for their future.

Student Body: Montcalm Community College offers some degrees, but the oversight it using the college as a transfer college. The teachers and staff at the college are wonderful and helpful. They apply critical thinking in all of their homework and discussions and seem to care about the individual student. The college itself offers memberships in student oriented clubs, such as The Drama Club and other fun things to be involved. The overall typical life of the student is bustling about campus to make class on time and utilizing the many tools of computer labs, library, and even the North Building to work on Arts projects. Montcalm Communtiy College is a great first step towards reaching a higher education. The school does contain a lot of people who have lost their jobs due to the loss of Electrolux and economy. The age range for students is anywhere from fresh out of high school to being a grand parent. The diversity of the ages makes discussions in classes and the learning experience memorable and open minded. I am very greatful for Montcalm Community College.

Academic Flexibility: I love how well the school works with personal schedule. They have classes at all times of the day. They also have a campus in Greenville, which helps with driving. I do not know how well the credits transfer though because I have only gone to Montcalm Community.

Academic Experience: I am finishing the pre-nursing program and will be going into the nursing program shortly. So far I feel that all of my classes have related to my program except for GNST105. There were only 4 classes and we didn't really do anything in them. The facility is very understanding and helpful. They all seem to truly want every student to succed. The workload so far hasn't been too overwhelming, but it isn't light either. I think they have worked out a program that really gives the student a chance to be successful.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: It is a small school, with limited resources, but they make up for it in teacher quality. I really got to know my teachers and they were very helpful in getting me on a path to my career.

4 College Freshman

Campus Resources: For such a small school there are some great resources. There is a gym and workout center, a library, nature trails, student lounges, etc...

3 College Freshman

Campus Resources: They have decent resources for their size, but they do have technical issues that have caused problems in the past.

5 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: Everyone is really helpful. They have great staff, that are very willing to help you transfer to a four year or just get a degree there.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Sometimes the financial aide department does not know the answer to questions and takes forever to get back with you.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: The only food on campus is Subway. Not that Subway is a bad food but come on it's the same thing everyday, no changes!

2 College Junior

Campus Resources: The gym on campus needs to be revamped. If you are a currently enrolled student there should be no question that access to the gym is anytime you want. However on our campus between semesters even if you are an enrolled student you can not get into the gym without payment. This means for those who live on a strict income we have no acess to a gym that is open, and is not being used. A really stupid rule that needs to be changed!
