2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: i got no aid this year and now im probably not goin to be able to continue school

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Apply for as many scholarships as possible so you have less money to pay back. When you do apply for financial aid, you will have to wait at least a couple months from the time you submit it to the time you get a letter telling you your award from the school. Once you receive the award, think fast on whether to accept or not because you only have 30 days from the day of notice until it expires. And for those of you who, like me, are paying for school by yourself without any parental assistance, just remember that FAFSA doesn't care whether or not you are on your own. They still take into account your "expected parental contribution" so plan accordingly if you're on your own. You probably won't get the full amount you need in loans that are just for you. Most of the time, they will offer you a parent plus loan to cover the rest of the cost following subsidized and unsubsidized loans. By the way, if you can, avoid accepting unsubsidized loans, because these accrue interest quickly as you are attending school and you could end up paying more in interest than the loan itself is worth.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: Unfortunately I have not applied for a lot of scholarships.

College Freshman

Scholarships: MSU it self didn't give me any financial aid in the form of scholarships. They do however allow for tuition to be paid throughout the semester rather then all up front which helps me a lot. Instead of having one large payment i have four smaller ones each semester.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: The financial aid in my opinion doesn't take into its calculations some necessary parts of life. So with how I have been evaluated I have to fight to receive aid that will help me out because on paper it doesn't look like I need it, when in fact I really do.
