College Sophomore

Drug Safety: I don't do drugs or drink alcohol, so I don't spend time around it either. I'm not a partyer and prefer to spend times off campus with a smaller group of friends. I definitely hear about parties with drugs and alcohol, but there are plenty of other opportunities to have a fun social life without them. Since I'm not around it though, I can't say much about the peer pressure end of it or whether there is any strict enforcement of policy. MSU is supposed to be tobacco free and there are many signs saying this, but that obviously doesn't mean much a lot of the time.

Drug Safety: I love it. Every weekend student go to the hospital for drinking to much. There is always free alcohol some where especially at the frats.

2 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Many students smoke and do drugs and, once again, there is not a lot done about it.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: For the most part everyone keeps their drugs and alcohol to themselves. Peer pressure doesn't occur frequently. On the weekend the alcohol and drug level does go up noticeably. As a result the ambulance and cops appear on campus throughout the night making sure people are being safe.

4 College Senior

Drug Safety: There are definitely tons of pot smokers on campus and around, but that is usually as far as it goes. I have not involved myself with anyone who does drugs so I'm not the most knowledgeable about the drug scene. We are a college of drinkers, though.

Students at MSU typically prefer to avoid the mushrooms and have some Bacardi instead. However, those that do participate in drug use will often light a joint rather than do any of the more dangerous drugs, such as acid or crack. Mushrooms are probably the second most popular drug of choice on campus, but it's a relatively low number of students that partakes.

Alcohol is a much more serious problem than drug abuse, and rumor has it that more than half the drivers in Montana after dark have been drinking. Drugs are not a prominent part of campus life at MSU, and those who indulge in illegal curiosities usually choose to do so off campus at a party or a friend's house.
