Facilities: I really do not know what seperates us from other schools.

3 College Junior

Student Body: I do not know about the student body presidents.

3 College Junior

Career Services: It ok and i believe it could be better.

4 College Junior

Online Courses: Onlince courses are fun and they have some good times.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: Computer Science has a great department but the building they teach at is very old. They are building new science building but i will be gone when it is done finishing.

Academic Experience: MJC is a good school and has some teachers that are great. The Anthroplogy department is the best and it is fun to learn at this school. Math classes are hard and many of the teachers do not teach it well. You can get discounts with your student id and there is a lot of programs that you can join if you want to do something else

4 College Senior

Facilities: Modesto has a brand new library. Library is super high tech which is great. It has over 50 computers. Has great quite rooms. Also librarians love to help which is a plus.

Overall Experience: I came to this school with very high standards that in some cases have been solid, but the effect the institution has left on me in other areas makes me question sometimes why I chose to come here.

2 College Student

Facilities: The East Campus can definitely use some upgrades to the scenery and student environment. West Campus seems to look more modern and with the times, but lacks in art and creativity, other than the amazing science center.

Campus Resources: The new library is well reviewed by others, I just wish it was more like a University library. I really wish there was an on campus gym/recreation center for students.

5 College Student

Campus Resources: Numerous amounts of computer labs. The wifi goes in and out though sometimes.

4 College Student

Online Courses: I took a hybrid English 101 class and it was great! The only problem is that I wish we had more in class time to spend with the professor because he is an incredible person to learn from.

3 College Student

Career Services: I have not had much of the opportunity to work with them just yet

Academic Flexibility: When trying to schedule classes and fill as many pre requirements as possible, the task becomes and daunting game of riding the wait lists/taking random classes to fill spaces.

Tuition & Financial Aid: When applying for schools, many of my friends told me that I would be secure financially; however, that changed quickly after I was denied financial aid. I have been granted the Board of Governors Waivers, but that barely helps. My parents are divorced and do not have a relationship with my father. My mother supports me as much as she can, but that is only in the form of a gas money, here and there. Because on paper she earns enough money, I do not qualify for financial aid. I am attending one of the best junior colleges for the area in which I am studying, yet I am not from the area. Therefore, I have to pay for rent, food, and transportation. I have a job, but with recent cutbacks, I rarely get the opportunity to work, and even then it is a four hour shift at minimum wage. I want to stay here, but if I don't receive any financial aid, I will have to resort to other options.

Student Body: The school has a diverse set of clubs that bring many students together. There could be a more prominent presence of the student body government on campus and with the students. Some events that are put on near the Student Services center seem to only be averagely successful.

Academic Experience: Within the department things can become a little too political. Since I am not from the area, and am attending a Junior College, I have had to deal with many difference in opinions on a variety of occasions. This has challenged me to continue to put myself in the shoes of others; however, sometimes a student should be able to feel comfortable expressing their output on topics. The program is the best in the west, and I can clearly see why from the demand that student's accept and challenge, but being there will always be ways in which we can improve.

Academic Experience: As an Agriculture Major, I came to this school seeking to find myself in a continued community of learners, but at times things can be a little too political. The general courses that I have taken have be wonderful. My professors have opened my eyes to new horizons I thought I had conquered before. They do more than just lecture curriculum, they expose my mind to the reality of who I am, who I want to be, and where I am going. The registration process can be quite difficult because it is hard to get the classes that you need when you need them.

Overall Experience: My overall experience at Modesto Junior College hasn't been easy but definitely worth it because of the cheap tuition and fees.

Online Courses: I really like certain features about online course such as being able to do the classwork anywhere at anytime and emailing the teacher for any questions or concerns. Being able to interact with peers online is very helpful and less time consuming. The only downfall of online classes is the workload. There is usually a heavy amount of work and a high demand for due dates.

3 College Junior

Facilities: The only unique thing about Modesto Junior College that has caught my interest is the science department. The science buildings have been remodeled and landscaped very neatly. There is a huge pendulum in the middle of the science center that will catch the attention of any student that walks by.

3 College Junior

Student Body: There is no such thing as a typical student at Modesto Junior College. Because it is a community college, the ages of students and number of units each student is enrolled in vary greatly. The ethnicities and sexual orientations of different students are very diverse. All students are accepted.
