Health & Safety: I have not been to the health center.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: It's pretty good. While I feel fairly safe alone on campus, I grew up around a large city with a high homicide rate, so anything short of that is fine with me, though my friends have concerns for my safety. I had a stalker last year but school officials and police helped deal with that quickly. But the lack of health care options, especially mental health care is appalling. Their on-site psychiatrist left and the only feasible off campus option is very judgmental and will not listen to your concerns. He has actually made me very sick by not listening to me before and it made me do poorly in classes. The health center will do unnecessary tests just to charge you and then will not issue class excuses even if you are supposed to be on bed rest.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Mississippi State has a very large police force. they also have a Bully Patrol program which hires students to escort people at night if they wish to be escorted. The program also keeps watch out around parking lots and the dormitories. The Student Health Center is the finest that I have seen. They have medical doctors on staff all day. They also have their own pharmacy with any prescription available. The health center is five floors tall with a different medical opponent on each floor.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: emergency calling stations all across campus, usually within earshot of an officer. very clean and maintained facilities

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Safety and security on this campus are relatively good, there is not a lot of violence or anything of that nature that goes on on-campus.
