Misericordia University is located in a rural area, right in the heart of Dallas, Pa. The town creates a welcoming environment for students, as Misericordia is the only university in town. The town is so intertwined with Misericordia that most of the businesses and organizations will give discounts to Misericordia students that walk through their doors. All in all, though, there is not that much to do in Dallas; however, Wilkes-Barre, a city where most main attractions are, is only a 20-minute drive away. Students can go shopping, eat out, go to the movies, and go to a Penguin hockey game all within a five-minute distance away from each other. Students who don't have a car on campus might find it hard to find a ride or take the shuttle to Wilkes-Barre because the shuttle operates on its own times and those times may not be convenient. Most students don't mind the drive and choose to get off campus to do activities because what the school offers can get old and sickening after a while.
Scranton, another huge town of attractions, is only a 45-minute drive from the Misericordia campus. It's another hot spot where students can go shopping, to the movies, or even a Yankee's baseball game. There are many things to do in these two areas. Good entertainment is only a short drive away!
