I chose this school because I work full-time and needed to be able to continue to work while attending online classes.
Honestly, when you first get recruited (because that's exactly what it is, is getting recruited) into Minnesota School of Business Rochester, they will tout many things about your head. They will say many positive things to get you to sign on the proverbial dotted line. They will tell you that there is an 80% chance of you getting in your degree field upon graduation. They will also tell you that classes are super flexible and there's many choices. I am here to tell you the truth. They are lying about everything.
The flexibility with classes is a huge lie. There are tons of classes that they will tell you "are available in the school" but in actuality, aren't. There's going to be tons of classes that are only available online that you had previously been told you could take in class. This is the main reason I transferred from RCTC to MSB was because the MSB Rochester recruiters said I wouldn't have to take classes online. Their response was to tell me to wait a quarter and pick up the class when its actually offered on campus "if it is offered on campus". Great. Just what I want to do. Postpone my schooling career for a quarter (three or so months) and wait to take the class on campus... let alone I don't even know if it will BE on campus in the first place!
The 80% placement rate is a huge lie. The recruiters tell you with wide, lying eyes different statistics to reel you in like a guppy. It turns out they have about 10 recruiters but only 2 people to help with career development for over 300+ students both current and alumni. Are you kidding me? Get your cards in a line! Having 2 people to help with your career after MSB is horrible, especially if you are guaranteeing a career for people after they are done with school!
And don't get me started about one of their career development people, Chris Gore, he is a proverbial joke of a man that thinks he is better than everyone else. He is extremely fake and a blatant jerk. Don't bother trying to explain why something should happen YOUR way to him, because he won't be professional about it. In fact, he will be downright rude as he flushes all of his professionalism down the drain.
I was an online student. I work 50 plus hours each week and children. I chose MSB because it was convenient for my schedule. I was able to study at my pace, and on my time. I had deadlines, but I could work up to them on my own. Being an online student is great, but it requires extreme diligence in time management to ensure that you don't put the work off. I loved being an online student, and had 4 years of it to complete my Bachelors degree.
I am able to take my courses at night so I can maintain my job.
Excellent Communication and Flexibility! MSB has been wonderful for me so far. The flexibility of the classes is great...either go in the morning, during the day, or at night. Theres also online classes! The communication between everyone there is awesome! I recieve emails about what is all going on and if I have any questions, someone is always there to answer them! Also, you don't get lost in the crowd at MSB unlike some schools. People say hi to you and a lot of people know each others names. MSB is wonderful!
Sorry, there are no reviews.
