4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of fast food places, but there is an equal amount of chain and local restaurants. Prices vary depending on how good of quality you want. But even nonexpensive food is still good.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: In order to get to good food besides Wendy's which is right beside the campus and McDonald's down the street, you have to drive at least 15 minutes to reach more restaurants and good places to eat. There's a good variety of places to eat in the more central part of Jackson and Pearl which is 15 minutes away. The food cost is just like regular pricing. Millsaps doesn't get student discounts which sucks.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are a few good restaurants around campus, but most students don't go out to eat. Usually students just eat in the caf.

College Student

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of good places with varieties. Nothing is really in walking distance, except for Pizza Shack.

College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: We have fabulous restaurants around the city and right in walking distance of campus. Some of my favorite places within walking distance include Kiefer's and Pizza Shack. Jackson is a rather large city, so there are great restaurants with a range of different prices.

Jackson has a tremendous amount of excellent restaurants in a variety of styles. In any case, this helps to encourage a lively dating circuit on campus and provides a change of pace for the Greek-centric lifestyle that most Millsaps students live. Surprisingly, however, students learn to mostly avoid the downtown area, because there are only a few good places to eat there. A car, therefore, is almost essential for reaching good off-campus dining locations.

Within a few minutes' drive, Greek, Japanese, Chinese, and Mexican places are at the fingertips of any hungry student. They are usually affordable, and their menus are easy to order from, so the restaurant scene is ideal for dates. On the other hand, more traditional selections are left in the hands of some fairly uninspired restauranteurs. Few of the pizza or burrito places are above average; though, naturally, they're cheaper, so a couple of new places will surface every year or two.
