5 College Freshman

Facilities: Everything is different, honestly. You just have to go to the campus to understand.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: There is only one truly hideous building on campus and it's the Academic Complex. Most of the architecture is heavily influenced by colonial works, but this monstrosity is a grey cement block of ugly. However, the huge green Bowl is always lovely and the campus grounds are well kept. The Athletic building is clean and nice, the library is well-stocked and exceedingly helpful, and there's an overall sense of campus togetherness at events.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: Little School – Because of such a small social scene , it seems as if everyone knows each other or at least enough for a friendly wave. The classroom sizes are very small so it gives you are much larger opportunity to understand and ask questions with a professor that you actually know and that actually knows you. At millsaps you're a name not a number.

5 College Junior

Facilities: Everything there is clean, organize and just right.

5 College Junior

Facilities: Millsaps is an outstandung college that any college student would love to be at. They are caring and very active. The classrooms are small but they are wonderful to be in. What a great school Millsaps is to me.

Schools across the country have been in a furious race to provide students with the best facilities possible. Of course, providing high-quality academics programs is always top priority, and schools with more limited funding, such as Millsaps, may appear to be losing the race in this regard. One prevalent rumor is that admissions demanded for years that visitors not be shown the Christian Center and upperclassman dormitories. Lately, though, tour groups are regularly seen in these places. Several small gardens have been added around campus with endowments bestowed for that specifically, and different solutions for beautifying the campus are constantly presented. The HAC and the playing fields are also used frequently, especially by athletes and students looking for some good recreational time.

The Christian Center, one of Millsaps’ oldest buildings, has long been considered at the top of the list of buildings to replace. While plans do exist for the creation of a new Christian Center, it has undergone extensive construction, including a new roof and walk around for the theatre, foundation repairs, as well as a new directing studio and makeup rooms. Professors, students, and administrators all agree that the worst facility is the Ford Academic Complex, which houses the Business Of?ce, the Of?ce of Records, the art department, and a many classrooms. It was conceptually designed in imitation of Plato’s Academy, but it has not aged well.

Favorite Things To Do
Many students spend quality time on treadmills in the HAC, and the Caf, as might be presumed, gets considerable volume at lunchtime. The Bowl, at the center of campus, is a reflection of the student calendar: after or before examination periods, two-dozen carefree students picnic or throw Frisbee, but during more stressful periods, or when the weather is gloomy, it is empty. Also, Reuben's, which opened in the Spring of 2008, is an on-campus restaurant that attracts hoards of students going to or from the frat parties. Its large flat screen and comfortable seating combined with the fact that it is open until 2 a.m., makes Reuben's the newest popular on-campus spot. The Millsaps Players produce about four plays a year, and every Friday in the Ford Academic Complex (AC) a forum is presented by guest speakers on intellectual topics. Millsaps Productions frequently provides concerts and games in the Bowl. There is also a weight room, several basketball courts, and a number of sports fields to frequent.
