4 College Freshman

Parking: If you aren't a freshman, parking is great. In the Woods it's easily accessible, and in the New Halls/Greek houses it's perfect. Freshman parking is usually a pretty good walk from the dorms though. Cars aren't needed to do anything but go off-campus anyway so it's not a big deal. Freshman permits are $100

3 College Sophomore

Parking: Spots fill up quickly very early and sometimes people make their own spots hindering other people from moving around with ease.

3 College Junior

Parking: I don't usually drive on campus so I am not sure

4 College Sophomore

Parking: There are a great amount of large parking lots!

3 College Junior

Parking: The parking for vistors is excellent. I have gone to schools where I cannot park anywhere; however, Millikin has many excellent spots for vistors. The problem is the parking for students. As someone who lives off campus, I cannot park anywhere on campus without getting a $50-$100 fine. The security people are extremely strict and not understanding.

Freshmen and sophomores must petition for a parking spot in order to have a car on campus. This applies to those students who plan to live on campus. If the petition is granted, permits cost $100. Juniors and seniors simply talk to Safety and Security, and a permit costs $50. Commuter students follow the same rules as juniors and seniors, and permits cost $50 for them, too. Parking is somewhat available. Typically, there are enough spots, but some lots fill up faster than others. That is when parking becomes really difficult.

Having trouble finding a spot is usually the biggest problem. As long as students park in their assigned lot, there should not be a problem. However, there have been some instances where tickets have been handed out even if the student is in the correct lot. As long as one goes and talks to Safety and Security about it, things can get worked out easily. Parking in the wrong lot is the most common violation, and parking in a visitors' spot or in the arrival court is the next most common. Safety and Security is on the ball about parking violations, so breaking the rules is not recommended at all.
