4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: I feel as though everyone is friends with everyone. It's a very close community.

5 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Girls and guys are all pretty cool and down to earth!

5 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: I love the girls at Millikin. They are some good looking, good dancers, good kissers, et cetera. They like to party and I mean there are still those girls that are hungry for a serious relationship but there are plenty that just want to have fun. There are also guys that really want a relationship. I think most people are into finding a hook-up rather than a relationship early on. But I don't think anyone is afraid of a relationship if they find someone they'd like to date.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: The theater people dress the best and are the most outgoing. Nursing students pretty much wear sweats or scrubs. Everyone else dresses up when they have to for a presentation.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Everyone has their own personality.

It's hard to describe the average student since no one is average. Millikin is a unique campus filled with a variety of characters; students are "above average." The average student would be someone who acts like themselves. There are students who are athletes, brainiacs, musicians, video gamers, bookworms, or just laid-back. Millikin truly has a variety of students, and no one can really be given the "average" label. One way or another, students from these different groups can make connections. Maybe they share a class, or they meet in the library looking for the same book. They can strike up a conversation about a favorite video game, or they might be practicing the same sport at the DISC (Decatur Indoor Sports Center). Connections are easily made at Millikin.

There appears to be more girls on campus than guys, but it doesn't really affect dating. Some people come to campus dating people from back home. If someone is looking for a member of the opposite sex to date, the option is available. There may be a handful of promiscuous students, but it would be a very small handful. There are more reserved students on campus.

Social Scene
The students at Millikin tend to be very outgoing and personable. They are quite social, and the atmosphere is friendly on campus. If you wanted to play a sport or go lay on the quad, it is not too difficult to gather a group together. Students can work out in the DISC, too. There are a lot of activities and a lot of interaction. Striking up a conversation is pretty simple, and the caf can get loud with how much conversation is going on. Sometimes, a conversation can be started just by passing somebody in the hall.
Hookups or Relationships?
The dating scene seems to be pretty open. It is not difficult to find a member of the opposite sex to converse with. If you are wanting a relationship, it is just the matter of finding the right person. It seems like there are a lot of serious relationships, with couples holding hands or kissing. There are probably a lot of hookups with how many parties there are. For one seeking a hookup, it could be just as easy to find a serious relationship.
Dress Code
Most of the time, dress is pretty casual on campus. However, students may dress up for a formal event, a class, Celebration of Scholarship, or one of several parties on campus.
