Scholarships: It is an ongoing process and I continue to pursue options

College Freshman

Greek Life: I have not spent time exploring Greek life

3 College Freshman

Facilities: it appears to offer activities and opportunities to help balance academically and socially.

College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: I have not spent enough time to make such a determination.

College Junior

Campus Dining: Don't go in the café, order from the coffee place, etc.

Guys & Girls: The transition from the public to college is dramatic. People in my age group in college compared to the general public-same age group- dress and act with much more respect.

3 College Junior

Diversity: Traveling from class to class the majority are whites, Africans and Jamaicans are the next largest group. Then there's a small sprinkle of white, European-descent students that attend.

Off-Campus Housing: MSU has off-campus apartments that allows students to live off campus and not have to pay utilities just a semester payment. Also Wichita Falls has many apartments and duplexes available are considerably appropriate pricings. A con may obliviously be the fact that being off-campus means you are no longer the MSU police's job to protect. A pro is, during the summer, living at the MSU apartments are cheaper if you are taking classes and if you get A's in those classes then your apartment payment the next fall is cheaper.

Campus Strictness: The campus is strict but also lenient. They allow students to be grown up and make their decisions but they also have their rules and guidelines that they require be followed. And if not they give warnings and if misbehavior persists the they take care of it.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: The guys and girls on campus are extremely diverse in age, interests and culture. However, with these differences I have come to learn more about other people and I have made diverse friendships. On average the guys and girls encountered on campus are friendly and will most likely share a smile when passing by, some even act like they know you and will carry a conversation which is always fun.

Academics: My major is Radiological Sciences and this major choice give individuals many opportunities. Radiology has many different branches to choose from and the administrators of this department allow each individual to choose. The program is tough to get in but we are not treated like a number but as a student working for something. The department works with students and helps recent graduates with finding job opportunities.

Academics: MSU offers many areas of study. There is engineering, art, psychology, athletic training, botany, business. You name it and MSU most likely has it! The main areas of study seem to be engineering, art and radiology. And registering for these classes are simple. You receive lots of help and mentoring.

Overall Experience: My overall experience at Midwestern State University has been great! My favorites experiences would be going to footballs games and tailgating before the games. Also Family Day, where my family came to visit and there was food and games. Choosing MSU was great because the tuition cost is cheap for a university and I am close enough to home but I am also on my own. If I had to choose all over again, MSU would still be my first choice.

Campus Housing: Living on campus was a great decision considering the dorms are smack in the middle of the campus. So getting to classes on time was super easy. Also the Resident Assistants worked hard to making dorm life enjoyable. They had once a month floor meeting where everyone on the floor met together and did something, such as, watch a movie, play games, craft, or bake. This helped relieve any tension or awkwardness with being in a new place with new people. It also helped me make some great friends.

Off-Campus Dining: Off-campus dining in Wichita Falls is very convenient considering is a college town. You only have to drive maybe two minutes off campus in order to eat. There are many cheap options and a Mall close by with a food court. Many places around town give a student discount. For example on Thursday nights at Chick-fil-a if you brought your student ID you only bought one entrée and get a second free! Or at Qudoba (Mexican cuisine) you got a free large drink. And of course, every college students favorite, frozen yogurt place around town gave students discounts and promos.

Greek Life: I'm actually in a sorority on campus. I was not my first semester, but I saw how involved with the community they were. Since joining, I have enjoyed every minute of it. From making friends, to being involved on campus, and getting great leadership opportunities I have not regretted my choice.

Non-Greeks and Greeks, from what I have experience, get along great. I personally have many non-Greek and other sorority/fraternity friends. Of course there will always be the stereotypical view of Greeks by the few who do not know us.

There is no Greek housing on campus. We have a Chapter Room where all the sororities have there own meeting rooms. As for Fraternities they have off campus houses.

Majors: I have not had an internship; however, I do plan on having one next year. The reason being is I believe having an internship would not only look fantastic on my resume, but it would help me gain the appropriate knowledge I would need for my career choice. I know having an internship would require a lot of responsibility and time commitment with very little pay. With that in mind I still look forward to it, simply because I cannot wait to start my career. Finding an internship should be fairly stress free considering my university has abundant resources and faculty willing to help.

Majors: I love my decision to join the Radiology Program! If I could do it all over again, it would have been my first pick. I had a different major my first semester at college but changing to Radiology was great. I enjoy my academic advisor, who is very resourceful with helping me decide classes and the route I should take. Also, I have many friends in the program which helps when the going gets tough. After starting the program I have decided to graduate with my bachelor's as a Radiological Technologist and then I will continue my education to get my masters as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. Finding a future job in my chosen field will be simple. I believe a job in the medical field is tough in the education part but rewarding once graduated, simply because radiological technologist's are in high demand and having the masters degree will help give me an upper hand once applying for a job.
