Campus Dining: The food on campus at MTSU is descent. After eating the food everyday for a year, there does not ever seem to be enough options. Most of the time, the lunches seem really greasy and there does not seem to be many healthy options. The most healthy options on campus are at the stores on campus and the Happy Tomato. There is also a Dining Hall but many students claim that it is expensive without a meal plan. A meal plan is the best way to go when eating on campus daily. Many times the cashiers have trouble with their credit and debit card machines and so people with the flex dollars and meal plans do not have trouble. When someone pays with cash it is even faster, although, many college students do not carry around ample amounts of cash on them all of the time. Some of the best food options are in the Student Union Building. In this building there is: Happy Tomato, which includes a salad and potato bar and a wrap station, Panda Express, Popeyes and a Mexican food restaurant. The Blue Raider Grill is also located in the Student Union Building. This is the hot spot when the weather gets chilly because it is a place that the students prefer and has descent warm food.

Campus Dining: There is a lot of good food, you can meet new friends like I have while eating at the many locations on campus that sell food.

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: its okay if thats what you want to eat all the time. there are a lot of different things to eat but its the same stuff all the time so it gets old.

5 College Junior

Campus Dining: The cafe tries to include every ones food preferences. The meal plan is convenient! We have so many options. The best places to eat are the JUB and the Student Union.

Campus Dining: I really like it, but I'm not very hard to impress.

Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

MTSU offers a wide variety of dining options, but they're not exactly cheap—you can expect to spend about $7 for a square meal. In addition to the food courts and cafeterias, there are kiosks around campus that offer coffee, baked goods, beverages, and more. The University has made an effort to provide more appealing options for its students. Starbucks is popular.

A major downfall is the lack of a 24-hour dining facility. The Cybercafé is open until 2 a.m., but a vending machine may likely be your only source of late-night sustenance. And, unfortunately, there are times when even your vending option is out of order. Many dorm residents have mini-fridges in their rooms, which can be a great backup to the on-campus selection. But remember: Freshmen who live on campus are required to purchase a meal plan, so you may eat a majority of your meals on campus, whether you like it or not.
