1 College Freshman

Nightlife: Wait...there's a nightlife here? Winter Carnival is the bomb though.

Athletics: Hockey is really the only thing that people watch here and if the team could learn how to freaking pass and we got a competent goalie we could easily have one of the best teams in the nation. Football isn't too big here seeing as it's a division 2 school but we usually do fairly well and some people do go to the games. Our women's soccer team is pretty bad ass but no one really attends their games. Our women's volleyball team needs some improvement but there are bunch of crazy people at their hoe games so I highly recommend going.

Greek Life: Most of the frats and sororities are okay but one or two of them are generally hated by the everyone because they act like children. Their parties suck. No one really cares about the Greeks.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: Everything here is great, especially the library, areas for students to get help, and the hockey arena. They are also remodeling building almost every year.

College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I haven't lived off campus yet so my input would only be speculation.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Last year I would've said great but a couple of the local restaurants downtown have recently come under new ownership and quite frankly I wish they hadn't because the old owners did a much better job. But besides those one or two places the culvers, taco bell, and pizza hut here are pretty on-point.

Campus Housing: I can't say much for the other dorms but living in DHH was great. You're right next to all of the classes and it' a smaller dorm so there aren't bunches of people going in and out all day long. Also, in the upper two floors you get closets in your room which I liked but some people hated because they take up a lot of room. The huge kitchen in the basement was completely remodeled last year but it's usually being used by one or two cooking aficionados.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Easily one of the safest town I've ever been to. You can walk around anywhere you want and not feel threatened or sketched out.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: A vast majority of the people attending here are Caucasian Americans that come from quaint little suburban white-washed neighborhoods but there are also very large Indian and African (not African Americans...Africans... as in from Africa) populations and the overall diversity of the students has been getting better with each passing year.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: A lot of guys don't leave their rooms... with the 3:1 ratio (males:females) you would think they'd try a little harder.

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: I'll give this a great rating because you get as much food as you want, whenever you want it (well...during dining hours that is). The food is usually really good but sometimes it's probably better if you just make some ramen or easy-mac in your room.

5 College Junior

Athletics: Since we have division 1 hockey, that's pretty much all we have. Students get into games for free and there's a lot of prizes and contest during the games.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: At the restaurants students are treated like royalty, they are most of the business that comes through Houghton.

4 College Junior

Diversity: There are many international students and professors. If you get the chance to work with an international student do it! You both can learn from each other.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: When you apply you are automatically placed into consideration for all applicable scholarships which would be excellent if there were more scholarships to offer. But don't get me wrong, there are several incredibly helpful scholarships and grants available it's just that I personally wish there were more.

5 College Junior

Greek Life: As a member of a sorority I know that each chapter has a house (some are kept nicer than others). But it is not all about the parties. I don't know why this is asking about just the parties.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: Because we are in the middle of no where, security is tight. There is an active officer living on campus and he is the best. I have never felt unsafe here. I run at night and there has never been a problem.

4 College Junior

Majors: Tons of majors and minor opportunities here and though you have to declare a major before you start classes, it is very easy to find a better major and switch if needed.

5 College Junior

Majors: Medical Lab sciences is a small department so everyone knows everyone and the faculty are willing to help you as much as they can and if they cant help you they will find someone who can!

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Downtown is really nice and there are a couple useful shops and good places to eat or get coffee but besides that there isn't much there (kind of in the middle of no where). But besides that the locals are all really friendly and laid back.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: No one ever comes out of their rooms. I only stayed there because a scholarship depended on it. But it would have been more worth it to forget the scholarship and live off campus. You save more money that way. The rooms are tiny. They have big windows though.

4 College Junior

Facilities: Some classrooms are better than others, there are some really old rooms, but the labs are very well kept up to date.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: The school is expensive, and there's not much you can do about that. Financial Aid can only help you do so much.

4 College Junior

Nightlife: Though I don't go out much, a lot of friends of mine go to the Dog and the DT. They seem to have a lot of fun.

5 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: All the local people love the students. A major part of the population in Houghton is the students. There is a ton of stuff to do all the time! You just have to be willing to go outside!
