A parking permit at Messiah College is fairly easy to get. However, it is getting a spot close to the dorms that is difficult. Messiah offers student parking in lots A, B, C, D, and F. D and F lots are the farthest distance from the dorms and incite many complaints from those unfortunate enough to have to park there. There are a few additional parking lots scattered throughout campus and near the dorms, but these are reserved for seniors and RAs.
In addition, public safety officers are known to hand out tickets freely for parking in the wrong lot. But despite the threat of tickets, students still do this quite often. For example, many students say it’s quite irritating to park a mile from the dorms and walk back in the rain when there are open spots right in front of their building. Oh, and if you’re a freshman, you are not allowed to have cars on campus unless you live more than 300 miles away or have an off-campus job.
