4 College Freshman

Weather: Living in the south, the weather is fairly temperate, minus the occasion storm and heat.

4 College Freshman

Weather: Sort of hot and humid at summer's peak, but pretty different throughout the year, overall. Can be icy with sleet and cold winds for several days in February, then be relatively nice and warm a week later. "Bipolar" is what locals call it.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: The summers are VERY hot. The spring and fall are perfect!

4 College Freshman

Weather: Rainstorms can catch you, but I love it

3 College Senior

Weather: The weather undergoes large shifts from cold to hot. The spring and fall temperatures don't last long. It'll go from 30-40 to 80-90 in a couple of days time.

Macon is typically humid and warm from April through September or even October depending on the year. Temperatures can drop fairly low in the winter, though snow is a rarity. Rain, which is regularly heavy, is unavoidable. Due to the hills of Mercer’s campus, heavy rain can be an annoyance for getting to campus because sidewalks inevitably flood.

Spring usually begins to surface in March or April, but the nice days quickly give way to uncomfortably high temperatures. A range of clothing for all types of weather is recommended, and an umbrella is absolutely a necessity. The saying “when it rains, it pours” is applicable here. Tornado season begins in March, and Mercer tests its tornado siren warning system the first week of every month.
