Scholarships: Getting financial aid is the Mercers top priority. The keep us informed on deadlines, applications issues and needs, and help us reduce debts.

College Junior

Athletics: At the Mercer Macon Campus, majority of the sports are hosted there due the Atlanta Campus is unable to supply the availability for those sporting events. But Mercer Atlanta Campus take trips to Macon or with Macon by charter bus so that we can attend events, use the student centers to watch the event streaming live via satellite, and stay engaged the best way we can. I am a Bear!

Campus Dining: It is okay. The campus dining is kind of small but does its best at offering different options with a limited menu. They cater very well to different ethnics and other faiths based beliefs. The prices can be a little bit to much but I understand that much of that is the result of the economy along with the surge of soaring food costs industrially.

Local Atmosphere: Atlanta has a lot to offer from gay/lesbian, to authentic Asian restaurants, Mediterranean festivals, African American festivals, Eastern cultural festivals, Hispanics, European, and more. Mercer is Number one in recognizing local official of diverse backgrounds whom has played a major roll in the turn of history events to date. You will never know who would show up on Mercer's campus from President Jimmy Carter to David Christian.

Facilities: Student life involve many things. What I love about Mercer is that everybody is family regardless of your beliefs, orientation, and ethnicity. I have never seen a college campus flooded with international students from the East. It is a wonderful site. The theology students host a weekly fellowship with students from other countries to get them involve in networking, crossing other barriers that they may have faced in their own country, and help them build on their English language. The are always seminars from each school, volunteer drives, giveaways, movies, lunch and learn incentives, free food initiatives from community leaders, volleyball, basketball, tennis, and a host events with the youth and high school students sporting activities. Mercer is also a strong community supporter and server. Many of us also join together on major sporting events to enjoy some form of leisure at local pub bars or restaurants. After a certain hour campus gets very quite. Not everyone parties or mess around because they are focus on the next goal and agenda. Many of the hangout spots are located on Lavista and Blaircliff roads. There are plenty of other services like suicide prevention, counseling, career events and webpage, and many trips to other countries.

College Junior

Greek Life: I am not actively associated with any Greek affiliations, however I do have a few friends who are and they love the Greek life. Its like everything. I admire the family type bond that are drawn together, the fellowship, and the support to communities has always been a pleasant to me.

Off-Campus Housing: The off-campus housing is very close to the school but it is no different then getting rental or housing for yourself. The landlords disappear when something goes run, maintenance people are always slow, and rent due dates are not as flexible. Though the living is decent, it makes for a comfortable home to even raise a family in while pursuing your education.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: At graduate level it is difficult to survey some times because most and/or all of us are so focused and constantly on the go. Its like I see you at break, or computer lab, or at the student commons but we all are busy reading, studying, writing or completing a term paper, and/or preparing for a group presentation. Many students are full time family members.

Academics: Its great because of the interactions with faculty, technical interface and flexibility with group projects, and round tables with business, community, and ministry leaders as that provide great networking opportunities and real time information. The work load is intense at times due the focus of academia succession in every area of my life when it comes to family, professional career in finance, my volunteer work with my professional job and church. There is also a strong focus on ethics, writing, and communication which is essential to representing not only myself, but my degree distributor Mercer University.

Academics: The academics offered at Mercer University are Theology, Nursing, Business Undergraduate and Graduate dual, Executive MBA, and MBA, Pharmacy, and Education. Majority of programs are graduate level and many schools offer a variety of cross work that is transferable and even dual with other programs. The flexibility is a great merit especial for those who have full time lives. About 75% of the programs are on ground giving the student the diverse learning and development environments.

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: Cameras are needed. The campus police and the desk RA is not able to see and catch everything that goes on.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: The space is very limited and some roommates are not clean. Otherwise, its best for the distance to and fro class, but can be the worse for study time due to the thin walls that deliver noisy distractions. Creepy!!

3 College Junior

Nightlife: There are a few bars and clubs downtown, but they're pretty much all the same. Fraternities do have parties off campus, but they're nothing spectacular. If you're into partying, you can find your crowd, and same goes if you're not.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Mercer is in Macon, so its a college in a town and not a college town. The off campus dining available includes the typical fast food, and sit-down chains as well as many local restaurants. Downtown has a lot of local restaurants that are pretty reasonably priced and is not far from campus.

Greek Life: I love Greek Life at Mercer. I have friends in all four of our sororities and hang out with them regularly. I think the Panhellenic council promotes Greek unity well. Overall, I think that Greeks are viewed positively on campus as many Greeks serve as leaders in other organizations. The Greek housing is nice. It is not as large and extravagant as at bigger state schools, but Mercer owns the houses and is responsible for their upkeep, so they stay nice.

Mercer provides a great overall experience for its students. It offers a good social environment, as well as an exceptional academic environment. However, it is also difficult. Even if you easily received A’s in high school, you will have to put substantial time and effort into your work here if you want to continue to get grades like that.

The professors at Mercer are passionate and often create classroom environments that are open-minded and thought-provoking. This sense of engagement and candidness can make your courses seem more exciting and worthwhile. Overall, the majority of Mercer students say they would not trade their experience at Mercer for anything.
