Campus Housing: It was a good exsperience

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: Food is good . You just get tired of the same stuff. Pizza, pasta, hamburger, chicken tenders, fries , soup, salad, subs. Breakfast at Medaille is the best !!!

5 College Junior

Academics: I love it . So broad

3 College Junior

Scholarships: It's a lot of work but it all works out

Guys & Girls: For the most part everyone is cool.

Diversity: There is a large amount of student diversity although students tend to intermingle instead of being split into typical cliques. Overall, the attitude of the college tends to be more open-minded and accepting of all beliefs and lifestyles.

Overall Experience: One thing that makes this college unique is how personal the professors are with their students. Many of the professors (in my department) are on a first-name basis with students and they genuinely seem to care about what is going on in their students' lives. At my previous college, professors didn't seem to care if students were struggling in courses due to personal or family problems; at Medaille, a majority of the professors show genuine concern if a student is struggling or misses a significant number of class days and many are available after class for help with subject matter or to offer advice.

Greek Life: This college does not have any official Greek organizations. Any Greeks on campus are either students who were members of Greek organizations at other schools and later transferred, or else joined local or national Greek organizations without Medaille college affiliation.

Guys & Girls: There is a variety in terms of the ages of students; for example, it's not uncommon to have a student freshly graduated from highschool in the same class as someone in their 40's who is going back to school to start a new career. In terms of relationships there is also a variety, with as many students who are single as those who are married or in serious relationships.

Campus Strictness: Some majors have their own rules in terms of student behavior. For example, the Vet Tech department ranks professionalism as a high expectation; students have a dress code of modest clothing and shirts without offensive graphics or text. In terms of academics, the days you are allowed to miss class without a valid excuse depends on the course as well as the credit hours; some classes may allow 3 absences while some do not allow any absences without an excuse.

Campus Dining: The cost of food for those without a meal plan is per item which is a good option is you aren't too hungry and don't want as much otherwise the cost can add up quick. They have a few different sections with other food options (salad bar, grill, sub station) although there aren't many options for people with food allergies or special dietary needs.

Majors: As a Vet Tech major, the courses are very challenging and it's common for students to change their majors during the first year. If you are willing to work hard though and put in the effort studying, it is definitely worth it. The information is very interesting and being able to work hands-on with the animals instead of using models is very helpful. Many of the faculty and staff are on a first name basis with students and are compassionate and supportive of students with academic or at-home issues.

Majors: This program requires two internships, one for 60 hours of observation the first years of the program and one for 90 hours hands-on the second year. My advisor gave me a list of clinics, hospitals, and animal shelters in the area that would meet all the qualifications of the internship and was helpful in helping me choose one that would work best for me. I was allowed to complete it over the summer before starting my first semester at college which helped in terms of not worrying about having to plan an internship around a class schedule.

Scholarships: I transferred here from another college so I was already familiar with the process of applying for financial aid. One tip I have would be to apply for aid for the following school year as soon as you are able to. I waited too long the first time I applied to this college and by the time my aid was processed, school was a month away and realized I didn't receive enough aid to attend in the fall.

Local Atmosphere: Medaille College in Buffalo is located within a short commute to the Buffalo Zoo, as well as to Delaware Park. It's not too far of a drive from downtown Buffalo which offers a wide selection of restaurants, entertainment, and shopping areas.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: The only off-campus housing that seems to be endorsed by Medaille would be Collegiate Village. The living conditions there are nice, but the price is expensive (although less expensive than living on campus at Medaille). One plus though is that financial aid may be able to help cover the cost of living off-campus at Collegiate Village.

4 College Senior

Guys & Girls: all students appear to want to be there. Rochester campus is non traditional so all students are driven and passionate and there for one reason, to achieve their degree

3 College Senior

Diversity: appears to be diverse, small classes with diverse backgrounds and life stages

College Senior

Campus Housing: no campus house in rochester campus

5 College Senior
