3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: If you park in any lot other than the parking garage or the football field about a mile away from campus you will get a ticket. You pay for parking and tuition and should be able to park in any parking space on campus within reason.

4 College Junior

Diversity: I would have to say diversity is great on campus there are lots and lots of bilingual and international students and people with multiple different backgrounds that are mixed together and have never heard off an issue regarding diversity other than abortion debates held in the quad occasionally.

3 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: There are lots of scary drivers, but overall the city of Lake Charles is a perfect location for a college. Everything is within blocks of each other with plenty of shopping, fast food, and healthcare professionals. I have never seen so many women's and children's hospitals before moving here. Also, due the fact that Lake Charles has a lot local businesses the students at McNeese have lots of opportunity for internships and part time work while in school.

College Junior

Greek Life: I am not part of a sorority and have no clue.

College Junior

Campus Dining: I don't live on campus and rarely eat on campus, but occasionally I will get a hot sandwich at a small cafe they have in the student annex building and they do a great job.

3 College Junior

Facilities: A couple of the buildings on campus are brand new and are very nice while others are old and the ceilings leak when it rains, their are mildew stains everywhere on the ceiling and the desks are very small and uncomfortable to sit in for long hours. I do appreciate the fact that the Quad is brand new and is a place that is comfortable to relax for a few hours between classes and there are plenty of computers available at all times, but some of the facilities feel unsafe.

3 College Junior

Weather: It rains a lot and students get drenched walking across campus from their cars to their classes.

College Junior

Nightlife: I live off campus and commute everyday.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Very nice for not only athletics but other students as well

2 College Freshman

Weather: McNeese tends to flood often

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I don't see much of it

5 College Freshman

Greek Life: I'm a Chi Omega and I absolutely love Greek Life on this campus.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: I'm a commuter student so the traffic isn't that great to get to school.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: It helps keep us safe

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I normally do not here of any dangers and if so I immediately get a text and/or e-mail to alert me.

5 College Freshman

Majors: It is honestly very well renowned within Louisiana.

3 College Freshman

Majors: It is very very time consuming and expensive.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I do not live in the campus housing.

4 College Junior

Greek Life: i am a Greek. It has opened up so many opportunities on and off campus for me. Most Greeks are leaders in other organizations on campus and participate in many events on campus. Each organization helps the others with philanthropy projects and really do make a difference on campus. Compared to other schools, the Greek community is small, but that doesn't make it have any less impact on campus.

4 College Junior

Facilities: It is very involved with the community and incorporates ways to give back in all degree programs. There is almost always something going on on campus to get students involved and to socialize.

3 College Junior

Computers: The computer lab in the Old Ranch fills up around lunch time, but stays open until midnight most days. That is usually when I hit the books anyway and it is never crowded then.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: I honestly never hear about it. I have heard of some drinking in the dorms when it is not allowed, but really nothing too crazy goes on that I hear about from anyone.

3 College Junior

Parking: It has improved greatly. The new parking garage on campus has cut down the parking issue that has always been there. It tends to fill up around 8:15 every day though and then begin to clear out around 12:45.

4 College Junior

Academics: I am a nursing major in clinical classes right now. The classes are hard, but I know the professors there are training us for the real world. There are many other great colleges on campus, like engineering and music. I would recommend McNeese for just about any major out there.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: On campus at night, the cops are usually patrolling and always there 24 hours. They are easily a call away and stationed across the street from campus. I wouldn't want to walk around at night by myself though. It is just not how I grew up.
