Off-Campus Housing: Most of the off-campus housing that is located in a convenient/safe area is typically more expensive. Some students cannot afford apartments or houses that are located in good areas. There is a large variety of rent houses or lease houses in the area, although the pricing is typically increased given the conditions of the property and rules are strict when they know there will be college kids occupying the residence.

3 College Senior

Majors: I've never had one but from what I've heard from friends the offers are average.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: The athletics are getting a lot better as far as performance although the facilities are terrible.

Some sports don't even have their own locker rooms. The athletes deserve better.

2 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: I wish more companies would come in and build close to campus.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: The local staff are a big help. My situation is just complicated and needs special attention each semester.

1 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: They pay too much attention to issues that benefit their gain. Not enough attention to drinking and parties.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I would've chosen a bigger school in a larger town had I known beforehand.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Depends on your luck. The Greeks hold most properties for years.

Campus Housing: Disgusting dorms. Apartments are worse.

5 College Junior

Academics: The homework is easy and learning sufficient. The teachers are great.

5 College Junior

Academics: There are a lot of Academics offered at McNeese State University. The classes are teach and spread knowledge. The homework is not too bad and the teachers are great.

5 College Junior

Greek Life: I don't know what Greek life is.

Campus Strictness: The campus strictness keeps their students safe. The police officers do not play around. They can handle any situation and they use their authority wisely. The college is very strict on drug and alcohol use on campus. It is not tolerated for any reason. The classes are conducted as usual, if you do not attend or you are a interruption to the class, you are asked to leave and do not get credit for the class. There is no fighting on campus. You can not sell anything on campus. Any unusual behavior is always investigated. If a student has a problem, all they have to do is report it.

Facilities: The athletic centers are amazing. I came to college wanting to stay my normal weight, and these athletic centers have been amazing. There are even clubs through the campus that meet in the morning and do yoga, spinning, aerobic, and weight fitness. The student center provides an atmosphere to relax and rejuvenate. The cafeteria food is amazing and the snack are easy. The campus has a tradition for every month the students get together and hold speeches to inspire the will to keep going and meet new people. Networking is a great acquired skill. The campus tries to recognize things going on around campus through a newsletter that can be very informational.

Facilities: McNeese State University has a great housing program. As a transfer student, they have made me feel like I could have a home at this college. They provide exercise activities, a pool, an activity room fully equipped, food plans, and unlimited resources to help every student succeed in their studies. They have a huge library and on-site tutors that make the individual feel like they can always come with any question or concern. This college has dedicated workers that want to see you succeed in life and encourages new learning and gaining knowledge. The student life resources makes it possible for a student here to carry out any need.

Diversity: All of the faculty are very nice and resourceful. They are many different cultures on campus. Everyone accepts individuals as they are and help others as needed. The college offers many sources to help every individual succeed in their studies and in their personal goals. McNeese State University allows many ways to make their student feel welcomed and they try to help the individuals that struggle as well. It is a great environment to grow and learn. The campus is small and there are not many stores around the college, but it has the best learning environment that I have ever experienced. The is no type of discrimination no matter what your beliefs or appearance is.
