Academic Flexibility: All of my classes have been awesome and the teachers have been very flexible.

Campus Resources: McNally is an AMAZING school. If you want to get into the music industry this is the place to start! All of the teachers are currently in the industry and/or have many years to back them up. They are all very knowledgeable and they are here to help YOU. They want you to succeed in life and they know it can be very difficult. This school also has great courses available to you and an awesome library and resource center! Plus being in the Twin Cities gives you a little bit of an edge because the music scene here is pretty bomb.

Campus Resources: Everything is great. Wonderful library and student center, many student created extracurriculars, nice cafe for students and store. We do not have an athletic facility but a few students have a soccer club and running club.

Campus Resources: We have everything we need at McNally. Computer labs with midi keyboards, library, tutoring rooms, stages, store with drum sticks, reeds, textbooks, sheet music, and everything else you could need as a musician. We also have many recording studios and excellent teachers to help us with all of it!

Academic Flexibility: Everything ranging from the facilities to the classes are great at McNally. I love the small private school vibe and love that most classes are no more than 10 people. The only hassles I have is working and being a full time student. It is exhausting and it gives me little time to practice and focus on my music. I would over sleep and forget to do assignments because I worked late the night before. If you are a working student and trying to take 8 classes in one semester, good luck! Its very hard and exhausting.

Student Body: The best thing about going to a private music school is that everyone is a musician. We are all there for the same reason, to create music. We are all of different ethnicities, economic structures, political views, and sexualities. It makes it more comfortable to be yourself because there is no one to impress or groups to fit into. I personally think THAT is the true college experience.

Campus Resources: Since McNally is a music college, we have a few more amenities that other schools may not. We have a campus library, computer labs with midi keyboards, store with textbooks and instrumental needs such as reeds, drum sticks, and others. We have a cafe with a stage to we have have live music. The one thing that sets us apart from any other school is the recording studios. We get the chance to use professional equipment. Not many schools get this opportunity. And we have actual recording artists like Dessa and Jeremy Messersmith that come and teach classes and use the studios. Its a great facility!

Academic Experience: I love being a vocal performance major. However, in order to be taken seriously you have to become active in ensembles or independent projects.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Transferring credits has been easy, however, the school is over priced.

4 College Junior

Student Body: I would rate the student body at McNally Smith very highly.

4 College Junior

Career Services: I have high hopes for the future in the music career. McNally Smith is teaching me so much and I already feel as though I can get a job in my field. I have not been in the career center much because the classes keep me busy but I have had a lot of opportunities to get a music related job.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: So many resources that you can access at anytime you need them

4 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: I really like my class schedule. It gives me the opportunity to work a part-time student job and still have time to get my practicing and homework done. I really like the curriculum as well.

3 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition is very high and there is very little opportunities for scholarships which is unfortunate for people like me who need financial aid to keep attending. However, so far McNally has been worth the money.

Student Body: McNally Smith is a Music School! The atmosphere is Awesome!! A lot of the student are there to get a degree and network with other musicians. Networking is highly recommended by the faculty. I recommend that you network with the faculty! Everyone there has different styles and personalities but we all have one thing in common.. the love of music. That alone will make you comfortable with anyone who is in the building.

Career Services: Our school takes pride in helping the students! We have a wonderful student affairs office/team that can help you with plenty of different things! They are always ready and willing to help! They remind us to come see them at anytime. There is also a job/volunteer/internship board in the hall that is always up to date with posting for jobs, volunteer work and internships that are available and applicable to our field of study.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: The library has an impressive collection of records, DVDs, and books all relating to music. They also have a plentiful amount of laptops that can be checked out individually by all students.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: There is always something going on. I find it very rare that I'm bored there because there is always something to do or see.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: The student center is always full of people and you can meet so many new people there. It's a really cool environment because you are always surrounded by music and people who share that passion. The library is a great place to go to study and to escape the hustle and bustle of campus.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Many classes require the use of computers. Our computer labs are very up-to-date and are fairly user-friendly. However, sometimes it can be difficult to get in to the labs to use the computers because there doesn't seem to be enough equipment to accommodate all the students. Having a personal computer is a very smart idea.

Career Services: The Career Services at McNally Smith are the best I've seen. They make sure they can find you an internship in your junior year and help you find you the perfect job post-graduation. They are all about networking, so alumni are treated with the highest respect. The Career Services strive to find what's best for the graduate.
