Academic Experience: I have learned so much about the field that I will be going into once I graduate. The teachers and my advisor have been so helpful. Anytime I have questions, they are more than happy to sit down and talk to me.

Online Courses: I was hesistant to take an online class, but once the semester began, I began to love it! The teachers are very helpful and make things really easy to understand.

3 College Sophomore

Online Courses: The registration process for online classes is the same as with any other class. The professor/student relationship is not as strong, but there is usually more class interaction due to discussion board assignments. The workload is much greater than, about three times as much, on campus classes. Online classes seem like a good way to save time and money on gas, but the greater workload makes it not worth the switch.

Student Body: The student body at my school is extremely diverse. People range in age from 14 to their 70's. Students generally have a Christian background, but religions range anywhere from atheism to Buddhism. People are mostly very social, usually more concerned with socializing than class . Students are usually somewhere around lower middle class. The majority of students are very accepting and you can find many groups of diverse people interacting around campus.

Academic Flexibility: Classes and staff are very flexible at McDowell Tech. The staff always try to find a way to fit everything you need into your schedule. Most classes are offered during the day and either at night or online.

Career Services: McDowell Technical Community College has a very accessable staff. The campus even includes a building for buisness and carrer services.

Student Body: most of students are my age group and the working class of students go at night

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: I am an older student and not very smart but I am doing the best I can with what smarts has been given to me.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The school is very pleasant and the HIT teachers will work around a work schedule as best as possible. The financial office will try to work with you as much as possible. The website and student services associated with the webadvisor should take a look at other colleges and their student services with accessing grades and reports and alot of other important student services. They are very far behind the times.

Student Body: Financial Need – In the school most are white do to the county being mostly white. There are a lot of people in this school go through financial trouble and the school tries to help.

Overall Experience: The Math Professors – At this school they have two teachers for math Mrs. Culp and Mrs.Watts they are the best math teacher I have ever had at any school they both print out notes and homework assignments ahead of time. They a spectacular in their teaching skills, they show the best why to solve problems in ways that are easy to remember. Either one is always available to answer any questions (unless in class). In all my math classes here on campus I have made no lower than a 103% grade average in the class.
