3 College Sophomore

Diversity: The area is very "farm-y" and thus attracts conservative students.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I did not know how much scholarship money is available for graduate students.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: The Westminster neighborhoods are friendly and historic.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: They are very strict when it comes to parties etc.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Well the school is very expensive and is increasing next year but I wish they gave out more aid.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Certains teams are good while others are just a waste of time to watch.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: It's mostly fast food chains.

2 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Greek life is absurd at such a small school. Its an excuse to drink and have sexual relations as a social event.

College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I do not and would never live on campus. Dorms are small, dirty, and old.

2 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: After seeing other college towns, Westminster does not compare. Public transportation is nonexistent and it take more than 45 minutes to get anywhere exciting.

1 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I did not qualify for financial aid because my parents income exceeds the requirements. I pay for my tuition, so it is not' fair nor appropriate to use my parents income for the financial aid process.

College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I've never lived in off-campus housing as I commute. My knowledge is second hand.

4 College Sophomore

Weather: McDaniel does a good job clearing snow and debris.

2 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Recently there have been shootings, theft, armed theft, attempted crimes, and vandalism. Not much has changed to decrease these on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: The only downside is administration. Every registration, payment, application, or file is an event. Administration needs leagues of improvement. The curriculum and educators are exceptional.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: Internships are required for most degrees and programs at McDaniel. They cannot be paid and require a semester of service followed by a project or report. McDaniel does not do such a good job helping to find internships for their students.

2 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Bars are crowded, crazy, and chaotic. They are not my scene.

4 College Freshman

Parking: On-campus parking is great (if you have a car or commute). If you live on campus, you generally don't need a car unless you plan on going off-campus for the weekends. Parking in Westminster can get tricky with parallel parking spots and hourly meters.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Greek life is not huge on campus, but those who are involved love it.

4 College Freshman

Computers: Computer labs are accessible and up to date. Only downside is that they do get full very quickly during crunch times (midterms, finals, etc). Printing is very easy and inexpensive (each student receives a certain amount of money on their printing account per semester), network reliability and speed are great for the most part, wireless access is great everywhere on campus. Definitely recommend bringing your own computer.

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Westminster is small, and unless you can arrange (or pre-plan) trips to the Inner Harbor, DC, or Philadelphia, there isn't a whole lot to do. But it lets you be creative with your spare time, whether that means finding a park or heading to an art museum with a group of friends. Westminster is a great place to be--it's a charming college town.

4 College Freshman

Weather: Up until this winter...the weather has been pretty fine. However, we have had a LOT of snow! There have been many cancelled classes, but otherwise the weather is fine. Just typical for this region of Maryland.

5 College Freshman

Academics: I'm in the mathematics and foreign language (French) programs here: they are both incredible. Professors are there to help you and they will do whatever they can to help with anything. Workload is manageable, curriculum is manageable, facilities are good. Overall, I've been happy and impressed with my programs.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Some policies, like alcohol and drug use, are very strict but they are meant to keep the students safe. From my experience, they are welcome policies on campus for the most part.

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: I don't eat everywhere on campus, but they are in the middle of making big improvements. New coffee shop is great, though.
