The parties on campus are always enjoyed by students, but especially those who live in the apartments. Most of the parties are for students 21 and up, so if you're underage, you're going to have a hard time finding anywhere to go unless you have connections with other students. There are a few off-campus bars around the area, but if you want to go clubbing, downtown St. Louis is your best option.
The University has more than 100 events planned each year, and the Campus Activities Board (CAB) is very consistent with making sure there are always activities to help alleviate pressure on students who may not want to participate in the party scene. They are very versatile when it comes to planning events the students want to attend. The WHAM calendar (What’s Happening at Maryville), which can be found on the school’s Web site, alerts students of upcoming events. Recent movies are normally presented on the big screen in the auditorium, and hilarious comedians and magicians put on live shows. Annual events such as the Foam Party, Siblings Weekend, and the Fall Festival have become very popular among the students, too.
