5 College Freshman

Athletics: Students have awesome support for athletics.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: The recreational center has various work out machines, as well as a pool and basketball floors.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: I don't usually eat out, but I know of many places which carry a wide variety of food choices.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: I haven't seen any trouble so far, but by talking to other students I get the feeling it is nothing to put students out for not doing as told. With so many students, Marshall has to have a tight ship to maintain order and discipline.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I feel the faculty really cares and are helpful if needed. I feel if you get a degree from Marshall it will be worth it. I know several of my family and friends who graduated from Marshall and hold down wonderful jobs and do a good job with what they learned. They are recognized for the hard work and know how exhibited.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: The rooms are small that I live in due to being older. But others say the new additions are larger and up to date. But still they are warm and aplace to stay. I don't really mind at all.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: All I see is just typical college students. You can tell the freshmen from the juniors and seniors because of their maturity aspects. Most students seem to be down to earth and are helpful if needed. I don't feel I am so poor compared to all the others. I feel we all just want to get an education.

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: We are located close to the interstates and travel by car isa wonderful. There is an airport close if students wanted to use for spring break and outages from school.

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: I have went to Wal Mart a few times and other than that I'm not familiar with a lot of places. From the interstate there are a lot of shopping places. It is close to Charleston, WV and it has a lot of activities in cultural, sports, and just about anything you choose.

3 College Sophomore

Nightlife: With this being my first semester at Marshall, I really don't know that much about parties. I do not party and I pretty much do my studies and play basketball and other activities in the gym if I have free time.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: Getting used to campus life was hard at first. The first 3 semesters I stayed at home and comuted. But I could only get the first 2 years there and not for a 4-yr degree. So, I have always wanted to go to Marshall as a boy. It is a dream come true if I can afford to go.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I have always wanted to be in the public working with people. With the criminal justice system I feel there will always be jobs as long as there are people. Crime is always seeming to get worse, not better. I would love to be an asset to the public safety and do my duty to protect them as much as possible.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: I live on campus and am fairly close to the classes I take. Only 1 is pretty far and with the snow I bundled up this winter to walk to the class. But I'm fine with that.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I only have gone to this campus for this semester. I know one person that lives off campus and she has a right nice apt. for one. So, I plan to stay on campus due to my home being so far away (2 - 21/2 Hrs.) and don't know very many students.

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: The majority of the students here do drink, but it's no one is going to act differently towards you if you don't partake in it. It's just a good past-time.

5 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek life at Marshall is a big experience, and most students at least consider it at one point or another. It's a great way to meet other people and network with fellow students.

3 College Junior

Transportation: There isn't a whole lot of public transportation here other than the taxi's and a TTA bus that goes from the mall to campus.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: There are plenty of places to live off campus. Some are a few blocks from campus, but others can be far away and require a small commute. Prices are reasonable and most people can find a place they like in no time.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: The housing here is affordable, and everyone is nice and sociable while living in the dorms.

4 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: The majority of the population here is made up of students, so during school time, there are plenty of people and lots to do. But if you stay here during summer break, it gets fairly boring and lonely.

3 College Junior

Diversity: The school is fairly diverse. We have a few transfers students from places in Asia, and also some people i've met from Canada

4 College Junior

Computers: There are plenty of computer labs to use. Not only is the library full of computer, there are also labs spread out through each building on campus

4 College Junior

Campus Strictness: I have never had any problems with the campus police, or with the school in any manner.

5 College Junior

Scholarships: I received a full ride scholarship and haven't had to pay for anything since i began attending Marshall.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: A block down from campus is where all the fast food restaurants are. They're easy to find and also fairly inexpensive. There are also plenty of restaurants downtown for people looking for a little higher quality food, along with plenty of places that stay open late for the people enjoying the nightlife.
