3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: There will always be a drug scene at a university.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: I live in New Orleans, the city known for partying, so of course drinking is a regular activity done by college students. Students usually stay safe though and there are not a lot of problems with alcohol and drugs on campus.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Drugs really are not forced on anyone, they just happen. Alcohol is everywhere due to the abundance of bars in the city.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: I have never truly been affected by the drug scene on campus, neither have any of my friends, but I have heard references and I know from past experience that it is without a doubt prevalent.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Lots of people drink and smoke, but this is not unexpected being in New Orleans.

Loyola University does not take drugs and alcohol lightly. If you are of age, then you are most certainly allowed to have alcohol in your dorm room. However, it must not be in sight of minors or in sight in any of the lobbies. If any student breaks these rules or is found with illegal drugs, they will be reported and will have to meet with the people at Student Conduct. Each case goes in a different direction as far as who overlooks it and what actions will be taken.

Drugs and alcohol are not a part of campus life. Students should not feel pressured to be engaged in anything. In fact, several organizations on campus host different events to help students not feel pressure to engage in drugs or alcohol.
