On most college campuses, computers are needed almost 24/7. While Loyola does not require you to have a computer, it can be useful more often than not. Most students on campus can be seen with a laptop. They are very useful in class if you want to type up your notes. However, the library and Monroe Hall have several computer labs for students to use, and printing is free, though copies are five cents per page. All students, faculty, and staff are allowed to use the computer labs, but most students have their own computers and only use the library for printing because the computer labs fill up fast.
The wireless network is available all over campus, but every now and then, like when it is raining a good bit, the network seems slow, and connecting with an Ethernet cord helps with speed. Information Technology is the go-to department for any kind of wireless issue, and they can be extremely helpful. In short, if you have a perosnal computer but no printer, don't worry because we have free printing. If you don't have a personal computer, that's OK, too, because there are computers available for you to use when you need it.
