There are always plenty of things to do in and around Loyola and Baltimore at night. Being that Loyola has no fraternities or sororities, many students choose to go out in the city and some areas closer to campus. Loyola is primarily a bar school—where students choose to party and drink at a bar as opposed to in the dorms—and many students frequent the bars on nearby York Road. There are small parties that occur on campus, but most students choose to go out or go to parties at Johns Hopkins fraternities.
There is a group on campus called Options, which offers alternatives to partying and going out in the city. This group puts together trips, such as visits to Hershey Park, New York City, bowling, sledding, etc., depending on the season. These trips are open to all students and are a lot of fun. The school also offers a late night option on Friday and Saturday nights called Midnight Breakfast. This is a favorite campus-wide event, where a free breakfast is offered to all students in Boulder Garden Café, one of the main dining halls. This is a great option for all students to get a midnight snack and have somewhere to hang out with their friends on the weekends.
