Louisiana State University Reviews
Rating 3.85 out of 5 3,689 reviews
Louisiana State University is a beautiful campus, and overall, I love it! There is a lot of diversity major wise. For example, I am Geography Disaster Science and Management, and I could not find that major at any other college in Louisiana or Mississippi. My professors now are amazing, but some of my general education professors were not the best. The safety of the campus is an issue. It is very dark at night. There are not enough lights up around campus, but during the day, I have never had issues.
LSU has been such an amazing experience throughout my undergrad. I am currently a senior in dietetics and feel as though I have been greatly supported by my professors, peers, and the staff here! I love the oaks trees and landscape, campus architecture, student life, and overall community. As a student worker here as well I couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming and easy job! My coworkers and boss on campus are amazing. The opportunities I’ve been given here at LSU have been great and I’m sad that my time here is coming to an end. The only thing I would recommend I see a change in is more safety for students on campus and especially for women.
Louisiana State University has its ups and downs like any other university! Some professors were absolutely great, while some were just there for the money. Campus life was full of life! Mentors, RAs, etc were nice and helpful. There are a lot of resources provided for success, but it’s not pushed to its full potential to reach students. The environment is not all bad, but it’s not all good either. Although, safety on campus was taken very seriously. There were campus alerts to keep everyone updated and safe, whether it was weather, gun shots, potential threats, and more. LSU will definitely provide you with a good college experience. I liked the student involvement, sports events, deals, classes, food, students clubs, and so much more. I liked the fact that there was something for everyone to be a part of. It made everything 10x better, and ensured no one was left out. I would love to see some teacher involvements change, as well as an expansion on the curriculum held there.
