College Junior

Career Services: I haven't graduated from Pierce yet.

Campus Resources: The Wi-Fi only works in the school's library, and nowhere else. The computer lab is great, and it's pretty easy to print copies of documents at the library or CopyTech.

Campus Resources: The library is big and spacious, with a sizable computer lab. There really isn't much to do besides go to the library to finish up assignments or sleep.

College Junior

Online Courses: I haven't registered for any online classes because this approach isn't conducive to my learning style.

Overall Experience: My overall experience at Pierce has been wonderful. I have enjoyed taking a variety of different classes and meeting all the professors. I have also made some great friends with similar educational goals as myself. I would choose to go to Pierce again because it is a comfortable place to be. I know it by heart; it is almost like my second home!

Academic Experience: Being an Visual Arts major, i have been taking several art classes these past semesters. What's nice is that all the art classrooms are located in the same section, near the music department as well. I get to see all my friends on different days and work on projects with them or just use the computers in the lab of my graphic design course. I may even use the shop class to work on 3-D projects. The workload has been divided evenly; i put the same amount of work in all my art classes. It is not too much, but rather enjoyable.

Academic Experience: I loved being part of the PACE program where i took several short-term courses. The professors were so helpful and gave even more attention to each student because they had a limited time with them. General class registration for Pierce is so simple. I have the option to search based on major, or specific section number for a course. I may then choose which schedule works best for me. Either i'm in, the class is full, or it overlaps with another class time. Most of the time, i'm in.

Campus Resources: The athletic center is amazing! There are always students playing some sort of sport. Teams compete against each other, or just perform for the fun of it. As for the library, it is just the perfect place to study and focus on my work. I use the computers freely, get my printing done, browse through isles of books, and work on projects.

Campus Resources: I can print at several locations across the campus; the library, computer labs, and main print center. Wireless internet is available and fast! It's so nice to easily access the web for whatever i need, especially in certain classes when i need to do research.

Online Courses: I have taken one completely online class, and several hybrid classes. They are just as interesting as regular courses. There may even be more student-teacher interaction through the online classes. The workload is not overwhelming, but just enough to keep me involved in the subject.

Facilities: First of all, the campus is just beautiful. So much greenery; trees, plants, and gardens. The unique thing about my college is how easily accessible certain facilities are like the rebuilt library, computer labs, and tutoring center. Everything is basically located near each other or on the same path.

Academic Flexibility: It's sometimes tough getting in the classes I want. But with Pierce College, there was always room for me. I always found a spot in the specific classes i had to take. There's always a variety of different schedules for each class; they're designed to work for any student. All courses are transferable somehow, with specific ones transferring to Cal State and UC schools.

Student Body: An extremely diverse school. So many different people to meet, each having their own unique educational goals. A typical student at Pierce College is also a part time worker, completing his/her general education courses to transfer to a university, but also spends so much time at the campus studying, meeting friends, and working on projects. Everyone is accepting of each other and is open minded.

5 College Senior

Career Services: There are so many different ways to get information regarding post-grad plans. Whether it's landing a job, finding internships, scholarships, the right colleges, or just learning more about a specific major, there is always someone to help.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial aid process was extremely simple; its information was sent directly to my college. The tuition is average, but i am definitely getting my money's worth when it comes to my education at Pierce college.

Overall Experience: I should have come here first. It's cheap, the professors and classes are great. It's a conveniently close campus to home. I enjoy my time there regardless of the many issues I've encountered with technology and the admissions workers.

College Freshman

Online Courses: I haven't taken many to fully rate this.

3 College Freshman

Facilities: The professors are some of the best.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: There are a lot of options and even some classes that are offered abroad.

4 College Freshman

Campus Resources: There's a giant library and there's a great gym.

1 College Freshman

Campus Resources: I haven't had any luck with getting the wireless connection and overall technology is just not handy on campus.

3 College Freshman

Student Body: From my experience many of the students at Pierce aren't there to pursue much. It seems like they're just there to pass the time. Another thing I've noticed is that I rarely meet anyone who is actually interested in the subjects they're studying.

College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: I'm still just a first time student here so I don't know.

3 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: I'm currently not receiving aid, but have applied for FAFSA and a fee waiver. It's not that big of a deal if I don't receive any aid this semester because I'm only taking 6 units and I won't owe that much. Financial aid is much better at community colleges since they're not as pricey but there are certainly some people struggling. I personally think it's the better route in terms of financial aid and all things related to that. One of the unfortunate things is that no one is very helpful, you need to talk to about 5 different people 5 different times until you get some useful information. I'd suggest looking everything up online first, and then going to a financial aid officer (or 5 until you meet one that will actually help you).

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Sometimes I can't get all the classes like, which is bad, but it's not too bad because I can get my classes most of the time.
