2 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: They have no idea what they're doing. Good luck in this department.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I received ONE small scholarship and an unsubsidized student loan. The financial aid process was tiresome, but I managed to ink a bit of money for school. I have not started officially yet as classes do not begin until the 25th.

2 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: I got approved for loans. However, I asked about scholarships and the office literally told me to search "scholarships" on google.

4 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: What i have found difficult at lone star is help with financial aid and enrollment durring august.

4 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: They really work with whatever financial situation you are in. Also classes are not that expensive. If you're full time like I am, you're looking at about 1k per semester.

The process of financial aid is a headache, due to Tomball being the core campus of all the Lone Star community colleges. It is difficult to find an adviser at the other campuses because the Tomball campus is always changing the financial advisers due to the shortage of advisers between the campuses. You will see them twice a day in a week, but in your next appointment, there is no guarantee that you will see the same adviser that you met with previously.

It takes months to process a financial aid request, so mostly, students have to pay for the tuition fee and books by themselves, and then can later file a refund. Sometimes, students are chosen for verifications, which are not very long, but they can take longer than expected, depending on the number of applications being picked for verification.
