5 College Junior

Facilities: Great mostly everyone is easy to get along with

3 College Junior

Diversity: Its okay this is a predominately white institution (PWI) there are African Americans/ Hispanic/Asian/ that attend but more caucasion

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: Love it everyone is nice

5 College Junior

Majors: Everyone is nice and welcoming

3 College Junior

Scholarships: Scholarships given by school is determined by grades

5 College Junior

Academics: Finding a job on or off campus is fairly easy. There are clubs/ groups for almost every major. Academics is very important

4 College Junior

Academics: A lot of work will be given this is not highschool

5 College Junior

Athletics: There are 3 different gyms on campus excellent

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Of course off campus is the best because you don't have to worry about being told what to do by RA's. The cost is excellent and proximity to campus most are convenient. You will find a lot of landlords are easy going you just have to be careful.

Campus Strictness: Lock Haven is a great school to attend the perfect mix of schooling and social life. The only downside to this school is the 3 dorms located on top of the hill mostly freshman are appointed there. The school is very strict campus police are always out and the RA's are very strict. There has been numerous amounts of people who have been caught with alcohol or marijuana and as a result been kicked out. Citations are very frequent for underage drinking, parking

Weather: Because Clearfield is very small (two buildings) and there isn't anything to do outside the weather has no affect on it but at main campus I am sure it affects a lot of different activities.

Computers: At Clearfield campus we have one computer lab and the library has some computers as well. The computer lab as about 20 computers and a table for students to use their laptops. Printing on campus is great, there are multiply places to print to. The speed is pretty good, wifi can be slow at times and sometimes doesn't work at all but the tech support gets it running again pretty quick when it stops. Its easy to access. At Clearfield campus some classes its helpful to bring a laptop to class because then you can just go on d2l and save the lecture notes to your laptop instead of printing them out or writing them down. So buy a laptop because it will come In handy a lot.

Academics: Depending on if you go to Main Campus Lock Haven or Clearfield campus depends on how well the academics are. At Clearfield they are pretty good but Clearfield campus academics are centered around the nursing program and the criminal justice program. Main campus is centered around all the other majors they have. The professors at Clearfield are very nice and very helpful. Does help that it is a small campus so they can offer more help and your not just a number to them. Depending on what your going for depends on your work load. I know for the nursing program the workload is huge and very time consuming. The nursing program is also the most popular it seems as well.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: Student discounts for cabs, 1/2 price for 2 students

Diversity: There are many clubs and groups around campus as well and students that accept all kinds of diversity in gender sexuality and ethnicity!

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The only downside to on campus living is the Price for food and On campus stores. The best way to buy snacks is buying them in bulk at the local market or even better, The local Wal-Mart, which if you catch a cab with a friend is only about $6 dollars for a round trip.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: I love the dorms, can get noisy, but still great

3 College Freshman

Weather: manageable, can be bad, or awesome, but unpredictable

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: Financial aid depends on the work you put in for it

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus living is best if you have a car!

4 College Freshman

Athletics: The Rec center harbors athletes and no athletes

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: The Area is Good if you have a car. but manageable

Making friends that last a lifetime is just an added bonus to a student's "Haven" experience. However, the school is not for everyone. At times, the University can feel too small, almost like a high school. And if you don't like cold and moody weather, you may want to consider going somewhere else. On the other hand, Lock Haven is in a gorgeous region of Pennsylvania, and the drive alone is worth the trip.

If you're looking for a school that's highly spirited when it comes to sports, you may want to drive down the road to Penn State. School spirit at Lock Haven is nonexistent, with more students turning out for the intramural and club sports than the varsity ones. The lack of spirit doesn't transcend to academics, though. The intimate classroom sizes are conducive for great one-on-one relationships with professors, igniting spirited discussion. Professors can be tough graders, but it's not high school—nothing comes easy anymore. Overall, if college is a battlefield, then Lock Haven prepares you for the war of the workforce.
